Looking for help with anime shopping guide
Okay, getting away from the LJ acquisition drama for just a brief second...

I'm planning on updating my NYC/NJ/Philly anime shopping guide shortly (primarily for Kinokuniya's lovely new store across from Bryant Park [and the closing of the Rockefeller one], but for other stuff as well), and could use some new reviews (and, if possible, new listings). Any store which is currently not reviewed and/or listed is up for grabs, but secondary reviews, corrections, and/or additional notes are also welcome. NJ and/or Philly updates/reviews are a plus. Of course, all contributors will receive credit.

If you'd like to contribute, please post here or shoot me an email. Thanks in advance.

This is excellent! I've been to a few of those stores in NYC, but some are new to me - Can't wait to check them out!

Are you going to The New York Anime Festival by any chance?

Thanks :D

As for the NY Anime Festival, afraid not. Not much of a con-goer in the first place, plus I just got back from my honeymoon and need a fairly quiet weekend for a change.

Belated congrats on your wedding!

You didn't miss much at the con, actually. I went Saturday with The Boyfriend, and both of us were disappointed.

That's awesome. Next time I go to the city, I'm going to see about hitting some of those.

And yes, North Jersey is a pain in the ass to drive. I've lived here for 25 years and still can get lost.

(I really wish there were some places near me though. Closest and easiest I know to get to is the Kinokuniya Books branch in the Palisades Mall.)

I believe they were going to keep the Rockefeller Kino open.

As mentioned above, there's another Kinokuniya branch in Palisades Mall in Nyack NY. Ten minutes away, mwahahahaha.

I thought so too, but the last time I was there (a couple of weeks ago or thereabouts), one of the clerks told me that that store was going to close in about a month. We'll see, I guess.

It's been awhile since I last updated the guide, so I never got around to adding the Palisades Kinokuniya. I'll see about correcting that, though.

Anime Bento is gone, as far as I'm aware. I had a gift certificate for there and it, uh, closed a few months later. D:

I can do a brief review on Mitsuwa, since it's my jumping off point when I drive. You don't have to drive to get there, since there's a shuttle bus from the Port Authority to it.

Do you want stores in the Philadelphia area, or just in Center City? (I'm not into anime, but I know people who are.)

Hmm... that would probably depend on the store and location. If it's notable/near enough, I'd be inclined to include it. The Philly stores currently on the list were/are all in Center City simply because that's where I lived and what I knew.
