	Very special, yes. . . . and as someone that used to run XP but is now running Vista, I prefer Vista. But I wouldn't call one superior over the other . . . every OS has bugs of some sort. Even Linux. :P (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Would it happen to be the extended version? I've heard that one isn't so bad. Our new comp came with the basic edition and we've quickly come to loathe it over such delightful issues as: persistently uninstalling all and any attached printers, bugging issues with the Windows .igx monitor display (and frequent monitor blackouts in general), excessive dumbing down of OS command setup, and a full load of other fun issues.

	It would be the extended edition, yes. It really is quite nice, and it hasn't given me half the headaches that XP did (and yes, I was running XP with SP2). I've heard about some of the . . . issues with Vista, but I have yet to encounter them. Personally, I like it, though I won't begrudge anyone that doesn't. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

What pissed me off was the total lack of communication. When I got up and installed (in Europe), I got a popup warning not to upgrade the graphics AFTER the installation and searched frantically for the boot.ini file, which was luckily there. Much later in the day, there was a popup in the game warning people who had installed before 4 am GMT (the point when the bug was fixed) not to reboot. So the problem had been solved FOR HOURS before they bothered telling people it had been solved, let alone existed. To top it off, they didn't even bother to post the information about the bug on the front page of the site till some time yesterday evening, hours after most people would have needed the information.
