The cake is a lie! But spending lots of money for charity apparently is not.
A "life sized" Weighted Companion Cube plush on eBay just sold for $1,200. With a $100 shipping fee. It's for the Child's Play charity, but damn.

(You can buy a small version from the Valve official store for $100, also goes to the Child's Play charity.)

Dude that's pretty awseome that even the one from the Valve store goes to charity. I'm glad to see Child's Play is still doing so well.

Oh, I know who Jonathan Coulton is. He's actually one of my favorite singers. :D I love how he offers some of the music free, and he's on this big Creative Commons kick. It's so cute. I want to give him a hug.

...and if I had my laptop here, I could finish the Chiron Beta Prime icon I wanted to make myself for Christmas. But I don't. Oh well. :(

I tried to buy a Weighted Companion Cube plush from the store before they sold out. They've taken my money, but I have yet to hear if I am actually going to get anything in return.

I am sad.

I'm hoping to get a small cube eventually. It would be an awesome baby gift.

Well, I hope the PC version of this game is OK because I've decided I really really have to play it.

I think I'll skip the plush cube though, even the regular one, unless I win some money.

The PC version of the game is the best! Then the XBox 360 (which is excellent but first person shooters are best on computers), and I hear that the PS3 version had the bugs worked out but it was bad a short while ago.

Just completed the PC version, actually. If you have the system for it, it runs like a dream. And yes, you really really have to play it :D

I'm not sure I can even complete a first person shooter but in this case I'm going to have to at least try, because it sounds way too cool to skip.

All the way up to test fifteen or so it's really happy funtime. It doesn't even start to get challenging until that point.

I am all kinds of awful at FPSs, but Portal is more of a puzzle game in first-person perspective than a shooter. I'm also finding that Half-Life 2 on easy setting is pretty doable as well.

I hate most computer games after, oh, they got graphics, really, but Portal is adorable. And so very very wrong :)

PC is really the only way to play it, IMO.

It's an object from a game called Portal that quickly became an Internet meme.

The game is awesome. If you have a friend who owns the Orange Box and 3-4 hours, I would definitely suggest playing it (heck, I'd suggest buying the Orange Box if you're at all first person shooter friendly, it's a great collection of games).

; ; I bought Portal right after Scott from VGC made his video, and I can't get it to run on my laptop. It always freezes up right when I try to leave the first relaxation chamber.

That thing is awesome, though.

I need to play Portal SO badly. But I think I'd have to buy a new computer.
