Rec me, baby.
I'm the mood for some Girl Genius fic. All I could find on the Pit was this, a small collection of drabbles, and a Naruto Crossover.

Anyone got something good? No slash, please.

Yeah, if you find slash particularly Gil/Wooster, pass it to me instead. :D

So far, no luck. We may have to start writing our own.

Seconded! I have plotbunnies for it but am lazy and want someone else to do my writing for me.

It's commonly requested for Yuletide. I don't know how much fic there is in the archives, however, but you can check here.

I remember seeing it requested there too (though I'm not in the fandom) but maybe no one ever wrote it because the fandom doesn't seem to be in the search engine.

Found another drabble, at least. I too am surprised at how little there seems to be given how fanfic-friendly the comic seems to be. But maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.

And is it just me or does last Monday's strip seem tailor-made for iconizing?

That one's love, but this one is still my favorite for an icon.

Ah, Dupree. Master tactian, One of Wulfenbach's Senior field commanders, a good soldier . . .

and utterly batshit insane homocidal psychopath.

You know at least one Jager has a crush on her.

Hm . . . plotbunny. Jager/Dupree OTP?

Oh, man. That would be priceless, especially since I can see it veering in the direction of the mindless violence of Von Pinn/Whatsisbutt.

Andre.

When Dupree and . . . oh, let's call him Otto get together, Castle Wulfenbach loses pieces. This was until Klaus forbade Dupree to have intimate relations on any airship owned by Clan Wulfenbach.

After the Baron Ives battle, he said the same thing for enemy airships.

And then there was the incident with the onion.

NOBODY talks about the incident with the onion. It makes Klaus . . . twitchy.

Try the GG Fanfic Yahoo! Group. (It's members-only because the Foglios frequent the GG discussion group there, and the Foglios ask not to be shown fic for legal reasons, blah blah.) It's been quiet recently, but there's a novel-length story about the Heterodyne Boys and the origins of Punch and Judy that I particularly recommend, and a sort of RPing-to-the-death competition which I wish they'd start up again, since it was interesting and utterly bizarre. And I have two short fics (one Jossed) on LJ. I've seen fic on the girlgenius_lab comm at LJ, and I have a friend who occasionally writes GG fic, though I am a bad person and have read very little of it.

::LOL at the imposter fic:: Oh, man, that's awesome. I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking "walking souvenir shop" when she showed up.

Thanks. I remember it being the talk of the discussion group when she showed up, and Mechanicsburgh reminds me very strongly of a steampunk Wisconsin Dells. (Now that we know her better, though, I think she's kind of kickass. If evil. You know how it is.)

Oh, indeed. Although, when I thought she was an airheaded pawn, I felt kinda sorry for her. Now I'm just hoping the castle gets to be really creative when it squishes her.

I dunno. The castle struck me as insane, but not very creative. Of course, it did have other things on its mind.

I dunno, I thought the gold coin trick was pretty good. But yeah, as disjointed as it is, most of its other traps are pretty mundane.

Which Agatha will fix!

We can hope. My guess is, though is that Agatha may have to destroy the castle to protect Hetrodyne secrets, or, you know, finally get rid of her mother.

Speaking of which, I'm still confused as to who Lucrezia was talking to in that one strip where she was teasing Tarvek along with someone in a chair. We'll probably find out eventually, but for now it's nagging me.

Wasn't it Lucrezia Mark II?

What a dumb move that was, by the way. "I'm a power-hungry megalomaniac on a mission to take over the world. I know! I'll create a copy of my consciousness in another body! What could possibly go wrong?"

It's moves like that (like the way she just put! on! the locket! without thinking twice!) that convince me that for an evil genius Lucrezia is just not that bright.

Unless Tarvek was letting Lucrezia's mechanical head hang out in an armchair before putting it in that container thing, I think it would have had to be someone else, since Anevka was still Anevka at that point. ::does some hunting::

Here we go.

It could very well have been her, it just seems like a weird place to keep a head to me.

Yeah, that has to be the head. Lucrizea is talking to it like herself.

Argh, I really need to get my hands on the series. Paging through the website can sometimes take forever.

Lay as in sleep. Filthy minds! All of you! :-D

::snrrk:: I gotta agree with the mousie, though. For all Lucrezia's cunning, she's got a childish impulse streak a mile wide.

I see it more as arrogance. If Lucrezia is the Other (or has that been confirmed?), then she's the most powerful and evil Spark the world has ever known. If not, and she's just posessed by the Other or a major oppurtunisitic bitch, then that still leaves the mystery of just who and what the Other is.

Because "The Other" sounds like something distinctly non-human.

Based on the Geisterdamen and Klaus's descriptions of her behavior (I mean, really, glowing butterflies?), I'm thinking she is really fucking powerful, but she's channeling the Other. That doesn't mean she can't be evil in her own right, though.

Too true.

Okay, on to shipping matters.

Later stories of Agatha have her wearing a Hetrodyne Trilobite with wings, which reportedly signifies that she has at the very least allied her self with House Wulfenbach. It could also mean she's married into the family.

I can see this. Agatha wanders the continient helping out, Gil is busy with the Empire, and their paths cross all the time. It's a working marriage.

In terms of alliances, I'm still all too amused that the time machine thingy that kept following DuPree showed Gil dressed as a Geisterdamen. I wonder if he got pants, or if he had that bare leg going on like the ladies. XD

[info]gloria_mundi

An interesting point.

All right. Gil dressed as Giesterdamen means that he either stole the clothes, or joined them, which to me says he may have been posessed by them.

If his mother is from Zeetha's people like the Baron implied, then that raises all sorts of fun and plotbunnies.

Hey, you want to take this to IM?
