Bookfinding help please.
Okay folks, here's the deal. I have a friend currently living on an air mattress in my room due to being temporarily kicked out of Germany. As a result, I hauled her off to a business meeting for Boskone which while looking to be a lovely time, does have a lot of details that need to be hashed out at this point in the year. And she has no idea what's going on, but she was surrounded by floor to ceiling shelves of SF/F books for about four hours. And this got her to pondering a book she read once and has never been able to find again.

So here is all she remembers about it, and we would appreciate anything else anyone can recall. I seem to remember this book as well, which is why this is driving me nuts now too.

(And in a quick plug, Boskone is particularly interested in artists submitting to the art show, and it's fairly cheap to buy panel space. End plug.)

ETA: And as usual, y'all are fabulous for showing me where to look for information. Thanks guys!

This is exactly what whatwasthatbook on LJ is for. You may want to try them.

Don't know the book, but pointed your friend in the direction of [info]whatwasthatbook and [info]whatwasthatone. They're good at stuff like this.

Now I kind of want to read this myself! It sounds pretty interesting. But unfortunately I have no idea what it is.

Spirit Fox by Mickey Zucker Reichert and Jennifer Wingert. One of my friends just lent it to me, though I didn't finish it.

While I love Legend of Nightfall with all my heart, I still have to say that I'm not exactly surprised to hear that Reichert was involved with this.

I don't know the book, but now I know who else on JF is going to Boskone... :)

Don't have anything for the art show, but...oh gosh you're having a Peeps event.

Darnit, wrong kind of Peeps. I was hoping it was the infected vampire type.

This isn't related to the book, but I was interested in why your friend had to leave Germany since I've lived there for 20 years and now have permanent residency. It seems to me that she did it the hard way, and you should tell her to investigate the different types of visas. I'm pretty sure there are visas that would let her stay longer (at least there were "in my day" ;-)), especially if she has a skill that a native German wouldn't have, i.e. she's a native speaker teaching English for a school. Next time she should talk to the school where she was working because employers can often help a lot and there must be tons of info on the Internet.
