But in all seriousness, that is horrible to hear. I have a special place in my heart for Dirty Dancing, and it's always sad to hear of an artist of any kind suffering from disease. I hope the treatments go well.

That is awful, but I'm glad he's responding well. My uncle overcame (so far) liver cancer, so there's always a change.

(A bit trite to say, but looking at the photo - age has not been kind to him!)

And it's *pancreatic* cancer. That one killed one of my college mates in less than a month.

*wince* When I first heard about Swayze I thought it was prostate cancer, which is bad but there's a world of difference between that and pancreatic.

Me: "Did you hear? Patrick Swayze has cancer."
Dad: "What? What kind of cancer?"
Me: "Pancreatic."

Ugh. I'd hoped this was just a vicious rumor when I heard it. (Like that "Pamela Anderson's gonna die of Hep C!!!!" stuff a few years back.) At least that "five weeks to live" is an exaggeration, but blah.
