Ding Dong, The Filter's Gone
After filtering the most popular lj interests, the filter has been removed. A staff member is claiming that it was a mistake. Oops. Sorry we filtered out some interests. We totally made that filter on accident you guys!

For me, it's less about what actually happened--which bewilders me, since I don't see the point of taking particular interests off the popular-interest list, and the list of omitted words contains plenty of random words as well as sensitive words--and more about the sneakiness with which it was done and the future purposes of the filter. It's more of a "Let's not start this shit again, assholes" thing. I suspect that a lot of other people are thinking the same way. LJ has screwed up too often in the past year for us not to jump on anything that smells "off."
