The NAKAMA Declaration in manga
I'm looking for that moment that happens in a lot of manga where some character declares that everything they do, they do it for their nakama (usually in some bloody, badass pose)..

I ended up spending hours at looked at tvtropes.org, but they only have anime references. So, please, loungers, can you point me in the direction of some chapters

I've got two from Naruto, one from Bleach, three from D.Gray-Man, one from Fairy Tail and an iffy one from Gintama. (Lotsa Jump, yeah?)

I know there's more! Please help! Thank you!

They do that in the One Piece Movie: The Desert Princess and The Pirates: Adventure in Alabasta.

Apparently it's a retelling of some of the anime events, but I wouldn't know as the movie is all I've ever seen of One Piece.

One Piece? Luffy is all about nakama and protecting them. I'm not sure about earlier manga chapters, at least in terms of there being a definitive declaration, but here's a (colored) page from chapter 387.

Really the entire manga of One Piece is about nakama, protecting them, dying for them, living for them. Arlong Park arc, Laboon, Alabasta arc, Enies Lobby arc (from which the linked page comes from), even the Foxy Pirates arc.

Oh boy. I know they do it a bunch more than just once in Bleach. A quick look gives me one example in chapter 247. I don't have time to look for more than that at the moment though, sorry. :/ I know they do it in about every arc for One Piece too.

If I understand the term "nakama" correctly, you get this scene a bunch of times in Fushigi Yuugi. The Nuriko vs. Ashitare fight, Tamahome (several times), Suboshi does it too I think.

And perhaps Sailor Moon? I think especially in the arc matching Sailor Moon R, where the senshi get kidnapped one by one and then Usagi becomes pissed off.

fushigi yuugi is around volume 46-50, volume eight of the manga. And Sailor Moon is the second arc, but I don't know which chapters. You could check http://www.wikimoon.org/ I think they have manga summaries - or at least anime summaries.

In the latest chapter of Bleach (315, I think?) Ichigo declares that his job is not protecting his hometown, it's protecting his friends.

(No, I don't think "nakama" is some sort of holy concept that cannot be translated, as the TVtropes entry states.)

What do you have from D.Gray-man? Cuz all I can think of is Lenalee. Allen does everything for more than just his nakama - he does it for the Akuma (as evidenced by his thoughts when he evolves Crown Clown). Krory does it to justify killing Eliade. No one really knows exactly why Lavi does what he does (is it for his nakama, or for his future as a Bookman?) Miranda does it because it's the first time she's been useful. Kanda... well, he does it probably because it's dishonorable otherwise.

Lenalee's the only one I can think of who truly lives for her nakama. Allen's close to that, but he has the Akuma as a drive too.

Unless you're talking about more than the Exorcists? I dunno if Komui counts, since he doesn't necessarily consider the Exorcists to be his nakama, they're more like his responsibility.

Heh. This is my first real bona-fide slash pairing that I ship like this. I have a couple of fun ones in Naruto, but they really have no canon basis and are based solely on adorable fanart or exceptionally good fanfic. Lavi/Allen? Fucking CANON, I swear!

I've already written four shounen-ai fanfics about this pairing. One of my beta readers, who normally dislikes shounen-ai and yaoi (cuz they make him uncomfortable) enjoyed the series of fics so much he's already asking me about the next one! (If you're interested, they're over at FF.net)
