I really had to chuckle when I saw this.

I saw that. I may just have to go see that concert. For nostalgia's sake.

The first two times I completely read that as "recruiting" and thought, "Wow, that'll just look really incongruous."

I'm silly.

My inner 12 year-old fangirl is rather excited. I never got to see them back in the day. The one time I might have seen them in person they canceled their tv appearance and was then subjected to the hubbub of Tom Arnold and Roseanne's divorce.

What.

*sporfle* Oh, Jonathan would be the one who went off to become a real estate developer.

But still, "Hanging Tough" is twenty years old? OMGWTF. That just came out, like, the month before last. Seriously it did. Oh hell, I feel old now.

I'm confused because it was popular at my school in 91 or 92.

Well, I think Jonathon quit because of some social anxiety disorder. I think that's what the True Hollywood Story said. Poor guy.

But at least Donnie wasn't his brother. Says the girl had a Donnie and Danny doll each because she was just that cool. Of course, rat tails were kiboshed. Because ew. They matched my nearly buzzcut Barbies. What? It was hot that summer, darn it.

I was too young to really be into them, but I had this massive crush on Joey when he tried his solo career. So yeah, my inner 13-year old is completely spazzing out right now ^^

Come to England, boys! Please?

A college friend of mine went to jr. high with the Knight Brothers. And sure enough, at that Jr. High school, they released a yearbook, and people went around signing each other's yearbooks. As you do.

Our sophomore year in college, my friend was interrupted from studying for an accents and dialects class by a phone call from a teenage girl in Oregon who had someone gotten a copy of the class list and was looking up the number of each and every person on the list to see if either John or Jordan had autographed their yearbook, so she could buy it off of them. I believe she offered my friend a couple hundred dollars.

He was tempted, but ultimately decided the whole thing was just MUCH too weird and ultimately declined.

Oh, another story -- another one of my college friends was in a production of Godspell, and at one point in the play they act out a parable about a rich guy who goes to hell and a poor guy who goes to heaven. When they got to the part about how the rich guy in hell, they dramatized "the torments of hell" by having three guys stand around the "rich guy" and do a fully-choreographed performance of the opening bars of "The Right Stuff."

I laughed forever.

Oh, my inner 13-year old just went nuts. With me though, I was different. I didn't go for any of the "cute ones...which was most of them. Oh no. My favourite was Danny, the New Kid nobody wanted because "He looked like a monkey". I heard THAT a zillion times. But I loved him anyway.

Granted, initially I picked him out of sympathy, but after hearing some of the songs he got a solo piece on, he wasn't a half bad singer. :)

Hahaha right there with you. When I was in primary school some smartass put a penpal request in my name to this nationwide teletext thing, said I loved the NKOTB and a ton of other deathly embarrassing things. I GOT LETTERS. From BOYS. This when I was twelve and distinctly *not* interested. And then my MOM wanted me to reply and I just DIED.

Okay you know how there were 4 relatively good looking New Kids...and then there was danny?

Yeah. I liked Danny. It started out as a sympathy thing, really. No one else liked him because people thought he was ugly. o.o So I decided to gvie him a little love cos I felt bad for him.

*lamely admits that she had the game back in the day, but never played it.* Mom put in some yard sale. I think it was missing a couple pieces, too. I went to play with back when Nsync's first came out...and it was gone. I was so mad about that.

And I wanna see NKOTB in concert. Really bad. Apparently the cd's coming out in May, I think. I'll buy that. *nods* Have to support the washed up boybands of eras gone by, damn it.
