Fan History Wiki
This had somehow flown under my radar until I saw a posting about it this morning on The Beat: The Fan History Wiki.

I see they even have a category called "Kerfluffles". And here's f_w's entry.

I see she no longer details a fandom history for Supernatural going back to 2003 (two years before the show aired). Well done, Laura! Now if you could only stop trying to use the wiki to invent terms expressing your disdain for OTW or rename fandoms you aren't even in.

Oooh, this might get ugly in the future. I remember her from when she told me that popslash wasn't as big as bandom, and that 'a couple of quizilla fics now' didn't mean that the fandom had been big or note-worthy back in 1999-2001.

She made a hundred charts just to prove one commenter (me) that there was no popslash fandom on the internet.

I'm so confused by this. Why does she seem to use Quizilla as the epicenter of fanfic? Does anybody but 14 year olds actually use Quizilla as a fanfic site? If she's so concerned about defining fandom, shouldn't she use the lj communities?

Also, ebandom. :/ Nobody uses ebandom. Ah, oh well, not worth the effort. Does anybody but her even truly give a damn about her "fan history"?

It's so funny the Fan History wiki just gets mentioned here today... the Silmarillion fandom's "very serious writer [...] trying to be the BNF/mother of the fandom" from this old wank made a PSA about it just yesterday.

Her biography on the wiki made me boggle, because 1) do people really... care? :( and 2) I'm sure there are many other autobiography's over there just like that.

It's made of fail? That makes me kind of sad, because I have recently been bitten by the wiki-bug but all my interests are either not notable or not sourced enough for Wikipedia (also, there seem to be too many assholes there...) so I thought a fanwiki was a really great idea when I first heard about it.

Now this could be interesting, especially since highly anal fandoms often have highly detailed feuds over what happened and when. Keep watching that site!

I'm glad to see that the only major thing that it lists for me in my fandom history is the horrifically bad Digimon fansite I ran for about a week when I was, oh, about 17 or so.

And by 'glad' I mean 'Giggling through my extreme embarrassment.'
