Yaoi House on Fire

There was this Ai no Kusabi fanfic author named Kira Takenouchi, who eventually started up a company publishing original yaoi. She had subscribers and was publishing some authors, including print books. However, one day, she claimed to have found Jesus, and was going to abandon her company. People were upset, but some of the stockholders were going to carry on publishing.

However... One day Kira returned and claimed that her actions had been a result of mental illness. Now she's claiming that the authors she formerly published, who are understandably unwilling to stay with her company, are still under contract, and is legally threatening them.

So, in case you ever see Kira selling anything, be forewarned.

While this is all highly outrageous and wanky I still have to wonder who she got away with selling copies of Taming Riki and nobody challenged her. Especially when the novels have been licensed and published by June.

According to her she contacted Digital Manga Publishing twice after the novels were licensed, and they gave the okay for her to continue selling TR.

Seeing just how loony she's turned out to be, now I'm wondering if that's actually true.

Yeah, my bullshit alarm is going off on that one. While they did buy the rights for the work, it's not their decision alone to allow her to just sell derivative works.

Yes, I thought I recognised the name. I had an e-mail from Kira Takenouchi back in 2006, asking if she could publish my original slash. Boy, am I feeling happy right now that I said no.

I always thought schizophrenia was hallucinatory. But I only have a BA in psych, which is barely worth the paper it's printed on. D: It all sounds like dramallamas to me.

I'm an lol undergrad Psych student, but from what I remember of abnormal psych and from my own experiences with bipolar family members, the disorder can, in some (atypical?) cases, feature hallucinations. Like the time my grandmother put on a little-girl Christmas dress and said she was going to go meet the Wizard and asked if we'd seen where the Scarecrow went.

That said, I don't buy it here. Bipolar seems to be the get-out-of-jail-free card employed by lots of people who want to excuse their assholish behavior by being crazy, but not too crazy.

Internet insanity pleas make me lol so hard.

It can. I had a friend who quit her drugs cold turkey and went into manic spacestations. She told me a neighbor beat her up "just now, downstairs" (though that neighbor had been at work for several hours) and insisted she had cuts and bruises, which I couldn't see. There were other episodes along those lines.

This Kira whatsis could be lying off her ass to save face.
