Penny Arcade on the Anita Blake series.

I love Tycho and Gabe so much.

And the even more entertaining news post for you viewing pleasure-

I am about to talk about tabletop roleplaying. Technically, that should put me below Anita Blake author Laurell K. Hamilton in the Geek Hierarchy, but her sins are grave. Some of her sins literally involve graves.

You need to link and quote the news post. Because it is sooo much better.

I love Tycho and his way with words. *swoon*

Is that Mona Sax from a cutscene, or some sort of really good cosplay?

Technically, a little of both. There was a set of shots released that had the models/motion capture actors dressed up as the characters.

Shouldn't this be in clairvoyantwank? Because we all know it's about to hit the fan.

What about the AB forums? There should be some righteous indignation rising, like bile in the throat.

/ladies and gents, my Tycho impression

Been posted, no comments. They keep a really close watch on those forums, though. Which usually does bring the lols, I must admit.

Someone named Browning Hi-Power posted this in response:

thank you for posting this. hopefully it wont get banned. like allot of other stuff

His/her sig is apparently:

Am I the only one who wants to read books with the Anita from the first books? When she had morals, and kept her legs closed... oops, did I say that out loud...

I am really far more evilly gleeful than I should be, but I can't help it. LKH wank is my crack.

Haha, I love it. I hope LKH or her emotional bodyguard bans them then posts a butthurt explanation claiming it's actually good because it's character development.

I love the equation of "morals" with "keeping her legs closed."

And by "love" I mean "am inspired to set people on fire by."

Frankly, I couldn't identify with early-book Anita enough to keep going, and the amount of wangst she seems to have in later books about ZOMG HAVING TEH SEX is enough to make me hurl; I prefer the Merry Gentry books, which are at least honest in their porniness.

My boyfriend and his brother hadn't heard of the series, so I explained to them Tycho is being *nice*. He's not exaggerating or making anything up.

Werewolf sex?

I am intrigued. But not enough. I read one LKH porn series; I don't care how tall the guy is, in both directions, no guy will let a girl ride his Val Johnson like a see-saw.

Strangely, though I still own this book, I cannot find this sex scene again.

Well, I'm really not sure how else to explain it. Think 'World's shortest riding broom'. Being a male, this would be a big ow.

Wait, like a witch on a broomstick? Except presumably not side-saddle. Was she putting her full weight on it or something?

I am having serious trouble picturing this. I'm not sure if I want to.

I have to wonder if Tycho is wankbaiting. If so... well played, Penny Arcade. Well played.

Also, F_W has absolutely ruined bookstores for me. Every time I see a book from someone I learned about here, I start cackling to myself and then people think I'm crazy.

This happened again on Friday, damnit!

I am completely unable to listen to the phrase "This is [noun]." without thinking "This! Is! SPARTA!"

I can't tell you how many times the police have come to tell me I can't chestkick people into pits. It's really annoying.

LKH books are good for doorstops too. My copy of that same book has been used as such. Kindling has also been suggested, but it'd probably stink up the house as it burned.

I have an aunt who reads a lot of Anita Blake. A few years ago when I was younger-ish she was reading Narcissus In Chains (I think) in the same room where my cousin, my brother, and I were arguing about something. She told us to shut up (she's kind of our short-tempered, childfree aunt) and we didn't so she threw the book at us from across the room.

As bitter as I still am about this, it does in fact prove that LKH is useful for something.

YES. Borders was pimping all its new awful drivel new paranormal books in one place.

Stephanie Meyer also has a non-Twilight book out. I shudder to think of the suck.
