OH NOES
Another death in the family comic book industry this year is Michael Turner, who died yesterday of cancer. He was 37. I am pretty sure that Turner's work has appeared on FW (or that reactions to it have), as his distinctive style consists primarily of very busty women with plump lips and improbably bendy spines. I figured F_L would be an interested party, and even as someone who's criticized his work, I'm sad to hear he's gone.

I think it was his rendering of Power Girl that fucked with the laws of spinal anatomy and the ribcage and the screaming match it started that made it to f_w.

That said, I was still kinda proud of him for being a "local boy", so to speak, 37 is pretty damn young to go these days (at least in this part of the world), and cancer is is no picnic, so I hope he went peacefully and I wish his family well.

I'm shocked. While I hated his later style, and I always wondered how his Supergirl was more popular than the previous incarnations, as far as I have heard, he was a very nice guy. And 37 is way too young.

Oh, that's pretty sad. I personally disliked his art, but I know how upset I was when Mike Wieringo died, so I feel for his fans, and - obviously - his family.

Okay, yeah, Turner got a lot of shit for his later work, but I always gave him a pass because he co-created Witchblade, which was awesome. And now he's dead at 37.

Man, this is terrible news and I hope the best for his family.
