I feel bad for being really, really excited about this. My exams finish today and I have a few months free, so really, this couldn't come at a better time.

That said, my condolences to Cleo. I don't have many hot!person icons, but I do have John Simm, for what it's worth...

The appellate court can deny the appeal. Just because they're filing for an appeal doesn't mean that they'll get one. It just means that the second court has to look over the paperwork and decide if there's a plausible reason to grant said appeal.

If everything was done correctly in the first trial, then the appellate court has the right to say, "Nope, not happening."
