Watchmen trailer
You can watch the new Watchmen trailer attached to Quantum of Solace at Yahoo! Movies, here.

If you want to know what songs are played during the trailer, the first one is Koyaanisqatsi (or Pruit Igloe...? I'm not too familiar with Glass' work so some comfirmation would be nice.) Prophecies that goes into Pruitt-Igoe (thanks [info]waltraute) by Philip Glass and the second one is Take a Bow by Muse.

The first piece is Glass, and I think is off Koyaanisqatsi</i>, but I believe it's Pruit Igloe...

Sorry - I'm a Glass nut...

Sorry. I didn't know the song, and I got my information from some of the comments off of [info]cleolinda's post. I'll edit the post about how it might be Pruit Igloe and ask if anyone knows for sure if its that song or Koyaanisqatsi.

THANK YOU. Gah, I was going insane trying to place the music.

I kinda am having problems with Rorschach's voice. He sounds like 90's cartoon Wolverine and not....disturbed enough.

I sort of thought he sounded like Bale!Batman, myself.

It has me wondering what his voice would sound like without the mask.

Same here. Ever since I heard Alan Moore do the voice he imagined, I can't get that out of my head. JEH speaks to fast.

Just imagine it in a more American accent. It's creepy as fuck.

I dunno, sounds close enough. Gravelly masked voice, sound pissed off about everything.

The movie's already clocking in at 160 mins. If Rorschach speaks as slowly as Alan Moore suggests, we'll need to take in supplies and get a catsitter.

Yeah, same here. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the sound editing, since I don't think he sounded so much like Bale!Batman in the other trailer.

I didn't read the graphic novel until August and I literally did a dance when I realized it was being released nine days before my birthday. :D

DUDE! We're nearly twins! It's coming out ten days before mine.

and to reinforce that 'twins' comment, my nickname, and old username on some now-defunct message boards, was 'finchgirl'

By any chance is your old username based off of a certain badass lawyer from Maycomb County, Alabama?

It's at first "Prophecies", and then later goes into "Pruitt-Igoe"--both from the Koyaanisqatsi score. It's not the performance from the film soundtrack, but there are a few versions floating around.

I am always amused at where this music pops up--most props to one of the GTA IV trailers for getting the aesthetic of the film in there as well.

I sort of liked the voices, but maybe that's because I'm reading it now and have the influence of the first trailer on that.

...

Except Doctor Manhattan's voice. It's not bad, but I expected something more... boomy.

I'm kind of iffy with Rorschach's voice because it was always monotone in my head. Dan's is perfect in my opinion.

Doctor Manhattan's voice echoed when he said "LEAVE ME ALONE!" so I think he uses that soft tone when he's with Laurie.

I actually picture Doc with an otherworldly voice. Sort of semi-distracted, like he's not quite here.

But I also picture Laurie not being able to move very well when she fights because she's in heels, so I know how subjective my impressions are.

Eh, not fond of them being called "The Watchmen." Hopefully that was just a trailer thing, so they could avoid "So who are the Watchmen? Are they the bad guys? This trailer didn't tell me anything!" reactions.

I liked the footage. The city looks appropriately grimy in HD. There are some nice touches, like when Blake's attacker knocks down the door and stands in the shadows; you can see an eerie-looking statue next to him in the apartment that matches his profile. Symmetry! In MY Watchmans?

The acting looks good; I think I already love JEH and Patrick Wilson. Some quibbles but I remain optimistic.

I hope the film does a lot of the :) stuff all over the place.

Also the quibbles will dissolve in enough IMAX.

I don't know. I hope not, since the whole point of the squid was to prevent nuclear war and all.

During the kiss? That's from a dream sequence. Supposedly they're replacing the squid with 'something that matches Manhattan's energy signature', which looks like that blue-ish explosion in the city.
