More HP vs Twilight
Tell us: What's Better: The 'Twilight' series or 'Harry Potter'?

Maybe I just don't get it but what exactly is the comparison here? Putting aside the fact that one series sucks harder than a black hole, they're not really comparable. OR ARE THEY? I honestly don't see why people keep doing this.

People are still asking this question? SERIOUSLY?!

Oh, Twilight. No matter what, you always make my fandoms look smarter.

You might as well give up, Lorrie. The more you object the more they revel.

And ANYONE who seriously thinks Twilight is something great, go work in a battered woman's shelter. Talk to the women who were in relationships with men who watched them while they slept, who took the engines out of their cars, who cut their brakes. See how DAZZLED they are.

Seriously, best comment.

Remember when it was all about the Harry Potter LOTR comparisons? At least HP has something it can win hands down against.

But really, I'd probably be annoyed by the comparison if Twilight's "haters" didn't help inflate its profile.

Twilight has good family values, dontcha know! Bristol loves it. Says Levi is just like Emmett.

Do you like Stephenie Meyer?
Her earlier work was a little too "New Wave" for my tastes, but when Twilight came out in '05 she really came into her own commercially and artistically.

Like Twilight? Well, Breaking Dawn is tame stuff compared to the subversive, groundbreaking, awe-inducing, addictive, taboo-breaking, brain-breaking, obsessively readable can't-put-it-down-saga, DANNY. Imagine all the Cullen brothers f.ucking each other but 4513241241324123413243241 times as hot/explicit. Imagine everything you've ever imagined only in your darkest, most forbidden fantasies. DANNY will change your life!

See? The cussing filter on this blog? This is just the kind of BS I'm talking about! DANNY is all about freeing yourself from this kind of oppressive censorship. Read it today!

How about Twilight vs. Every Wangsty And Pretentious Shoujo Romance Manga, Especially With Vampires? *cough* (I'd be the last person to bash shoujo manga in general, but let's be fair here.)

Also:
"And I love how characters that were once thought of as horrible, unintelligable monsters (i.e: Vampires, Werewolves) are given starring roles in this saga."

Yeeah, because nobody had ever done that before Twilight. Nobody.

I haven to admit, viewing the two series as a whole, Twilight has a much snazzier finale.

The last HP book drew a lot of 'meh' and '*how* long did they spend camping?' reactions. I bet an OMNOMMOM Caesarian or two, and maybe some bruising pillow-biting sex, would've livened it up no end.

I've always been confused about comparing the two.

Harry Potter is a juvenile version of the heroic narrative.

Twilight is a juvenile version of the romantic narrative.

Now, I haven't read Twilight because I hate books with "eternal true wub" and etc. It's a major turn-off for me. I'd rather read HP's plothole-steeped goodness with the random pairings thrown out of no-fucking-where.

Aziraphale collected books. If he were totally honest with himself he would have to have admitted that his bookshop was simply somewhere to store them. Except for Twilght. Crowley had created that as a cruel joke unto humanity. Of course this backfired when they were stupid enough to read them.
