I had to share this. I regret nothing.

You remember that article about Twilight in the New York Times? There was an entry about it posted here on Monday?

Well, I have a paper for my writing class due tomorrow and we pretty much have to find an article in the New York times and write our reaction to it or an analysis or something.

You probably guessed which article I'm using. <3

My thesis? Twilight fans are crazy.

I hope my writing teacher doesn't fail me, ahaha.

You'll have a wealth of evidence to support that thesis. Even more if you can draw info from sources besides that one article.

I'm doing a research project on it. I wanted to focus on how they are completely nuts and how Stephenie is the queen nutjob, but my professor wasn't keen on it. So it's about authorship and fan production.

I'm actually slightly worried about what my professors reaction will be. I mean, I'm writing about Twimoms and everything. :0

Luckily it's just a small 2-3 page paper. And my professor lets us rewrite papers anyway so if he doesn't like it I can redo it. :P

I'm a bit surprised that Kristen Stewart, the actress playing Bella, hasn't been receiving nasty hate mail over getting to be all kissy-face with RPattz.

Or maybe they're keeping it secret to protect the reputation of the project. That'd be an interesting clause in her contract, not "I promise not to come out of the closet" but "I promise not to reveal how batshit the fanbase is".

Also, the IMDB entry for Twilight gives Kristen billing over Robert. I wonder what Robert's psycho fans think of that. *heh*

I'm more surprised that there hasn't been any wank (that I know of, anyway) about RPattz taking shots at Stephanie Meyer and even Edward. But then, he's pretty. (Or something. He's not exactly my type.)

I remember some fangirls squeeing about how taking shots at Edward was "in character" for Edward, so I guess that the shots he took at Meyer was just taken as more evidence about how much like Edward RPattz is (or they just ignore that step and think that RPattz is Edward). Maybe he should get himself interviewed while driving around in a gas-guzzling SUV to drive home the point that he's different than the fictional sparklepire.

Honestly, I think the truly crazy fans have absolutely no dividing line between the actors and the characters here. So it's really Bella getting kissy-face with Edward, and that's a-okay.
