I think the 'fen are the folks who need to know about this
The ten kinkiest sci fi/fantasy books evar. Please to note number six, about halfway down the page (of course).

Strangely enough, I got this link from Wiccan/pagan/academic blogger Chas Clifton.

I am appalled at how few of these I've read. Although considering the ones I've heard about and not bothered to read coughGoreanscough, I can't say I'm optimistic for the quality of the others.

I'm surprised that there are some I haven't heard of, like the last one on the page. The Kushiel books are kink but not sf, more alternate history posing as fantasy.

I can't say I'm optimistic for the quality of the others.

Saturn's Children was explicitly written as mockery of/homage to late-career Heinlein...so, um, make of that what you will.

Lilith's Brood is excellent.

I haven't read any of them. I'm not entirely convinced I'm missing out on a lot, though.

Belatedly adding to the comments that Octavia Butler's books are excellent and, unlike most of those on the list, aren't about alien sex but about...well, colonialism and what it means to be human. ...and in the first book of the series there isn't any sex at ALL, which makes their inclusion baffling to me. (Not because sex=bad but because the others...sort of focus on sex.)

Noooooooooooo!

Waugh!

(I read all three books, and, SRSLY, if you want for animal-on-person kink...well, I can't think of anything mainstream, but there must be something better out there.)

I work in a library, and I'm scared just knowing that Touched by Venom is in the building... lurking....

The first three, well, especially the first *two* Kushiel books I recommend for purple prose, costumes, and kinky sex. If you don't mind your characters being on the run a lot.

Storm Constantine, maybe?

It's a background note in Richard Adam's Maia, but technically that goat was also a god.

Cecilia Tan (The Velderet) is also a rather prolific HP fanfic writer (Harry, Draco, Snape, and/or Lucius) in her spare time. Anything over 100 words has porn in it somewhere.

Huh. I've actually read Fetish Fantastic, the SF/F kink anthology her press prints (found it in the stacks at a major university's library of all places) and it was pretty good. I'll have to go looking for her fic, I guess.

Oh, Gor. They are some of the least erotic books ever written, and yet they've still managed to spawn a fandom so creepy I wouldn't touch it even to mock it.

Agreed. The closest I'll come to the Gorean fandom is reading Housplant of Gor.

You obviously aren't a guy who can't get a date unless rape is legal and the girl's already chained up in a public square.

The fantasy isn't nearly as appealing from the female point of view.

Gor! My sisters and I got them all from a local used paperback exchange, and read them all one summer when I was in middle school. Perfectly awful, and yet I do have some nostalgia for them.

The fandom is basically the furries of the BDSM community, which I think says it all. It seems to go hand in hand with the particular brand of batshit that can't deal with being different -- so they generalize and claim that female supremacy is the natural order and everyone else is Doing It Wrong.

In conclusion, lol Gor

Needs moar Samuel Delany. Dhalgren, Stars in My Pocket..., the whole Return to Nevèrÿon series, Trouble on Triton, maybe even Phallos if you count alternate-history as fantasy.

I went linkie-click with my fingers crossed.

The Venom Cock! *kermitflail* Yaaaaay! (Touched by Venom)

A year ago I tried to make Touched By Venom the Musical but...
Well.. we couldn't do live action. No one hates themselves that much
And then animating it.. while possible.. caused it to die like peed upon pods (Touched by Venom reference) due to lack of voice actresses. Finding the right level of camp ain't easy. But whenever I see Ms, Cross's name.. I squee. The book is so bad it's bad.. but shared with friends, it's a cult classic.

Hey, where the fuck is Storm Constantine?

Oh, wait. Those are Sci-Fi, not Fantasy. Still... Wraethu or whatever it's called isn't pure fantasy, is it? *trying to block that stuff out of mine*
