Clear pics of the 2009 Sentai and Kamen Rider series are out.

Ji Sentai Shinkenger/Samurai Sentai Shinkenger

I don't think much about the plot is known yet, but I know it's rumoured this will be another all-sibling team like Fiveman, GoGoV and Magiranger. Pink and Yellow are women, the others are guys. From toy pics, it looks like their henshin device is a cell phone that transforms into a calligraphy brush.

Kamen Rider DCD (Decade)

I don't follow Kamen Rider as closely as Sentai, but this will be the 10th anniversary Heisei-era series, and I think the Rider will travel back and forth through time and eventually gain the ability to transform into each main Heisei Rider- i.e. Kuuga, Agito, Faiz, Blade, Ryuuki, Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O and Kiva. The official logo says "Masked Rider DCD", but it will be pronounced "Decade".

Shikenger makes me deeply happy because--robots based on origami! How is that not awesome? The faceplates are funky as all get out, but they're growing on me.

Decade, however, has a long way to go - he's really boxy and old-school in ways that I could do without. I am definitely a fan of uniting all the Heisei riders canonically, though, because it makes crossovers so much easier. (Also, the hope that I get to see some of the actors again--Shigeki Hosokawa FTW.)

	I just want the Showa Riders back, or something like them. No goofy gimmicks (er, well...goofier than usual for them), just straight up Rider Kicking the hell out of some goons. And only one Rider. At most two, because DOUBLE RIDER KICK is awesome. But no Sentai-level casts. Yes I am old and bitter. (Reply to this)

	I've heard it suggested that they may "paint" their kanji on the air to transform. Of course, that's nowhere near official, but it would be SO DAMN COOL. (Reply to this)(Parent)

	I'm looking forward to see the cast already. I like Go-Onger, but Shinkenger looks SO COOL. While DCD looks... eh. The concept of using previous Riders' power is interesting, though. ^^ (Reply to this)
