Because the world of Twilight is so deep and mysterious...
There is now an official guide for it:

From the amazon page:

This must-have hardcover edition--the only official guide--is the definitive encyclopedic reference to the Twilight Saga and provides readers with everything they need to further explore the unforgettable world Stephenie Meyer created in Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. With exclusive new material, character profiles, genealogical charts, maps, extensive cross-references, and much more, this comprehensive handbook is essential for every Twilight Saga fan.

... I just ...

Do they SERIOUSLY need a map of Forks, WA? I mean, GoogleEarth isn't good enough for them? What about their trusty Rand McNallys?

But I do look forward to more WTF "facts" from SMeyer. PS: LOL at the genealogical charts.

That has got to be the most ridiculous, unnecessary thing in the whole world. Greater, even, than Vanilla Ice.

Hey now, at least "Ice Ice Baby" was good fun back in the day. That's more than I can say for this book.

Don't forget "Go Ninja, Go." That was one of the best parts of that movie, and whole movie is awesome.

So... the Cullen family chart says... what, "None of the these people are related"?

It possibly shows married links, I guess. Maybe also who turned who? Which if X turning Y is like X is a parent to Y, then Carlisle/Esme is unfortunately incestuous.

You know, I've always wondered about something. Isn't the Cullens cover story that they're a family? And yet... they're all couple-y. Didn't anyone find that weird?

I was wondering why there wasn't an entertaining lawsuit to go along with this, to entertain us, but then I saw that Smeyer wrote it herself.

Damnit.

I want to rig things so that when someone looks at this on Amazon, the 'also bought' or whatever come up as things like 'Breaking the Cycle of Co-Dependence' or 'How to Recognize When Your Boyfriend is a Crazy Stalker' and somesuch.

The stuff it includes is useless. I mean, genealogical charts? I bet with at least one character she's going to say, "I don't know because they don't know, my characters tend to keep secrets from me."

I have a sudden urge to write the unofficial guide to Twilight, perhaps entitled The Science of Twilight or The Noob's Guide to Twilight. I foresee my task to be translating into eloquence the following statement:
"HOMG THIS SHIT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE!!!!1!! WTFBBQASDFJKL#%*.! *kermit-flail*"

A book-sized burn. It would be more beautiful than Edward in a pinata.

But I'd have to read the books first. So. Maybe not worth it.

I say they're worth a look for the sheer wtf? factor. I've grown to love them in a weird way. They're like the literary equivalent of an Ed Wood movie; so, so bad yet oddly compelling.
