No, that it's "regrettable".

There were some very nice musicals this year, so I'm not sure why they're complaining.

And perhaps this means an end to smushes celebrity names, please!

Did fandom come up with those first, or did the media?

Hm, the first one I remember the media using was Brangelina, and that was well after Popslash, which is where I remember the shmushnames appearing first. But I could be entirely wrong.

Seriously, I mean, I love musicals anyway, so I'm biased, but ... Mamma Mia, if nothing else! I want more of that, dammit!

They're not complaining about musicals themselves, they're complaining about the phenomenon of movie audiences being asked to sing along with the movies. FWIW.

Yes, shut up and let us watch the fucking movie!! GRAR!

*Had extreme fear that people would sing along with Repo! The Genetic Opera when she went to see it the first time.*

Surely Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and Prop 8: The Musical balance out High School Musical 3 and Mamma Mia!.

Way to go, MSN, for not whoring yourself out to Twilight!

Now I know there's none of that there glitter in my Dresden, but your icon disturbs me all the same.

Next thing ya know, there'll be icons of Edward as a hairdresser.

Just about the only thing they won't whore themselves out to, I'd wager.

Which still puts them a step above MTV and Entertainment Weekly at this point. At least in my view.

The new Facebook layout and my tiny screen resolution disagree.

And I dislike AJAX when it's used just to be used.

I must lol at the presence of both Twilight and name hybrids (they're not just for celebrity couples any more, they're also for the demon spawn of newlywed teenagers!)

Or, in the case of pregnant teens of recent VP candidates, a good name hybrid'd be a step up from the regular names running in the family.

I mean, seriously, they make names like "Dweezil" and "Moon Unit" look normal.

Srsly, although, what names could you get from Bristol and Levi? As stupid as Renesmee is, at least Renee and Esme are real names.

The Edwardian Section

Ooh, that's good, although I usually go with "CESARIAN BY TEETH AUGH".

The T-shirt she wore in college, "I'm flat broke but,[sic] I'm not flat busted," had a misplaced comma. Mock all you want, but the least journalism majors are supposed to be able to do is punctuate. Seriously. Don't make us use a semicolon on you.

Oh, hold me. Punctuation nitpicking? I might actually like the writer of this article now! Martha Brockenbrough, I salute you!

Of all the lines in the Twilight movie, the one they picked out as iconically bad was "You'd better hold on tight, spider monkey"? I thought that was actually kind of cute in a silly way.

Frankly I'm just amazed that not everyone in the universe latched onto the lion/lamb quote or THIS IS THE SKIN OF A KILLER BELLA as the most ridiculous thing since ever.

Also, were there really that many musicals this year? I didn't notice.
