I have a question that makes me look like an idiot!

I have the PS2 version of Tomb Raider: Underworld, which is very good fun. Unfortunately, they've changed the menus again. They do this fairly regularly, but the same thing happens to me each time: I lose the in game quit.

I've tried asking in TR comms on lj, but most people are waiting for the March releases of the game. Anyone here have an inkling? I've managed to force it back to the main menu by starting a new game and then cancelling it, but that seems unecessarily complicated. I can't believe they intend for you to quit just by turning the PS2 off mid-game.

What do you mean by in-game quit? That there is no 'save and quit' or save function? Because otherwise, yes, a lot of PS2 games will have you save and then simply turn the PS2 off.

Sorry if this comment is idiotic, but I don't know that game's menu screens.

All previous Tomb Raiders have had a quit that allowed you back to the top level menu. I don't know whether this was just a hang over from PC versions, where you need to quit the whole thing. The main menu and the in-game menu are much more similar in Underworld than they have been previously. I assume the PS3 version has a quit, because you can turn a PS3 version off with the controller, rather than the button on the machine.

I dunno if there's a quit to title option in the PS2 one because I have the PS3 version.

Just commenting to whine about them changing the menus again. (wrrrry ;_;)

Have you tried a soft reset? (L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Select + Start)?
