Even if this movie was a complete turd, I'd still buy the soundtrack.

That said, don't get anywhere near the Wikipedia article if you want to avoid spoilers. I now have to find some way to scrub my memory of the past few minutes.

If you're talking about the trailer music, I don't think that's the actual film soundtrack. :( The YT trailer notes say it's "[a] modified version of "Freedom Fighters" from the trailer music library "Legend" (CD 1) by Two Steps from Hell (composer: Thomas J. Bergersen)." And after digging around for their site it seems like they don't sell to the general public. :( On the other hand, if that's not correct I'll race you to be first in line for getting a copy. ;D

Yeah, I agree.

They've re-imagined ST:TOS, and managed to give command of a starship to someone who in a real command situation would be too young, too immature and too inexperienced for the post. All for the love of the pretty.

Mostly, though, I really want to pull out my ST:DS9 DVDs (the one season I could afford, anyway) and watch it all over again. In fact, I think I'll do that.

I saw this before Imax Watchmen the other day, and my brother said afterwards that Winona looked really bad. I didn't notice she was in the trailer, but he used to be A Bit Of A Fan and spotted her four frames straight away.

My dad got me hooked on DW and ST:TOS when I was a kid. (Well, and on Monty Python, but Mom pretended not to know about that.) Occasionally, channel 39 would run an all-night ST marathon and we'd stay up and watch it together. He would have been all over this movie so, crap or not, I'm going to see it and watch for all the bits he would have enjoyed.
