Our prayers go out to you, Natasha.

Traumatic brain injuries suck and I hate them.

I'm hoping for the best for the sake of her family.

There seems to be a lot of conflicting reports on how bad she is. I hope the media's blowing things out of proportion and she's really going to be okay.

I've heard different things as well, and I really do hope it's a case of reporting the worst-case scenario because there's nothing confirmed.

I don't know. I'm no expert, but I know more about traumatic brain injuries than I wish I did, and it sounds like her (seemingly minor) fall may have caused a domino effect of stroke(s) which resulted in serious brain damage.

I've also heard it may have been an aneurysm, which wouldn't surprise me. I do hope that all the worst reports are wrong; such a brilliant, vibrant person should go on being that way.

The way the reports sound, it seems like the accident could have triggered a pre-existing condition like an aneurysm, but that need not be the case. The brain is so delicate it's scary. I wonder if she'd worn a helmet, if she'd be in this state now.

There are days when I think it might be smart to go around in a helmet all the time, and I don't even engage in activities that require them. I am absolutely terrified of the very idea of a brain injury. To me, what makes them particularly awful is that all too often, no one is aware that anything bad happened until after it shows itself.

Now that I think about it (okay so I'm definitely obsessing over this), I bet the rumors are starting because the doctors are uncertain of her prognosis, and when they tell family and friends this, every person hearing that news hears whatever they hear based on their own outlook (pessimistic people will hear the worst news possible, optimistic people will hear the best news possible, etc.). Then in turn, confused people make confused reports to a frenetic media and things get a little crazy.

Stupid brains, being so delicate and amazing and not so well understood and all.

Two, I think. She has at least one sister also, I'm pretty sure. My cousin's grandfather died from stroke complications today; I can't imagine trying to make a life support decision for someone so much younger.

BBC's reporting that she's died.

Fucking shame, she was one of those few 'Gah! She's lovely! Talented AND nice AND gorgeous!' actresses.

Is it bad or just a sign of encroaching cynicism that I think this is doubly sad because she was famous for being good at acting, and not falling out of nightclubs commando or getting her baps out on YT? :-\

It is doubly sad that a family is robbed of someone they love and the world has such a talent taken from it. She wasn't just a pretty face on a screen; she had serious skill to go with all her other attributes, unlike so many 'famous' people.
