Cat, Photoblogger ([info]cat_mcdougall) wrote in [info]fandom_lounge,
I hadn't heard of the books, until the movie came out. Why? Because they weren't in my demographic. I don't have anyone in the right age bracket to want to read them, and there are so many other books I want to read, that they wouldn't even be a blip on the radar.

The fact that she's got four small children also puts into the time constraints. So, depending on when she heard about the books, and finally made the connection between her old college roommate, and Stephanie Meyer, then, yeah, I can see it taking this long to click.

And if they lost touch, that adds to the time it would've taken. So, it's really not all that strange.

I just had my ten year high school reunion. Found out a guy I knew well in high school has been playing semi-pro basketball in Europe for the last five years. Didn't have a clue, even though several people swore it was in the paper (to which I have a subscription and read most days!)
