Archie's gettin' hitched?
After seventy years, Archie Andrews chooses... (who?) (spoiler of course)

I always wanted [loser] and [winner] to hook up, but that's my slashy side talking. They work so much better together.

I approve of this notion and wish to subscribe to your newsletter. :-) I never had much opinion of Archie one way or another, other than a cipher as to "which girl wins" (thus I always wanted him to be with [winner] because I liked [winner] best... not entirely healthy thinking, I suppose, but meh XD) While I'm not much of a slasher, I always LOVED the stories that focused on [loser] and [winner]'s friendship or had them generally united and getting along within the plot. They definitely had a great relationship... when they weren't being written into incessant petty squabbles. XD

It says something sad about the state of romance writing that a lot of romance-based subjects are made far better by putting the love interest with their BFF instead of their intended beloved.
