Loot at MSNBC, not caring at all!
Just something relatively amusing I noticed while watching The Daily Show.

Watching this whole Coffee Feud, you just gotta love how Joe Scarborough & co act like typical *wankers* who show up on F_W to defend themselves. You know, the whole, "OH LOOK AT ME NOT CARING, YOU AMUSE ME SO HAHA, CAN YOU SEE HOW MUCH I DON'T CARE" act, while simultaneously dishing out insults. It's slightly uncomfortable to watch, and yet oh so amusing.

What I don't get is why do these *real* news stations lower themselves to the level of actually whining about something a *satire news show* does? Oh shit, they're like those people who insist on debating us and don't get the point of F_W and need to LURK MOAR O_o The similarities, they stun me!

Cute pony though

I was laughing at Scarborough's Twitter not too long ago when he was whining about how crazy liberals were based on, I gathered, some loonies who were twittering back at him or something. If he were in fandom, he'd be like, a wanker all-star.

And people worried about TDS not having any material once Bush was out of office!

:D

I'm Finnish, so I have to admit, most of my exposure to Scarborough (tricky name!) and all these news panel programs on different channels is through the Daily Show, so I have to admit I'm biased. But just. It's ridiculous to look at, they way they sensationalise everything and make total clowns of themselves and just. I never thought I'd be grateful for our boring plain tv news, but thank God the American way hasn't quite made shore here. Yet D:

I love how Jon is pretty much just taunting them, too. Seriously, even after the Jim Kramer debacle the news networks still haven't learned not to mess with Jon Stewart?

No kidding. They're supposed to be doing real news, but every chance Stewart gets to mock them is a point for comedy--which is his job.

If they'd just grow a sense of humor, I bet it'd make those plasticky smiles a much less tempting target for the proverbial Boston creme. Failing that, I shall continue to enjoy Jon hurling pies :)

That's my favorite part too. MSNBC is taking the whole thing so seriously, all "The paltry fake news anchor mocks us BUT WE SO DON'T CARE U GUYZ" and the whole time Jon is just looking on all "LOL MSNBC."

He makes the snark look so easy. The people that respond to him always try to be all nonchalant, but it's pretty obvious they think they're somehow under siege.

I loved the clip of Joe saying how he's been on the Daily Show, and Jon is the angriest man he's ever met. I was just like, yeah, people do tend to get frustrated when talking to idiots!

I wonder if Joe is still the Vice President of the Colbert Nation.

Also, our cable is currently fucked up, so I can't even see if this is the replay episode right now, or if it's with On Demand.

Not being American, I'm surprised at how funny Jon and The Daily Show is. I actually get the humour!

It is so funny when the proper news shows get so defensive about it. Reminds me of when the current affairs shows here were so gleeful over The Chaser boys getting in trouble.

I once noticed something similar in Jason Mraz' "Geek in the Pink";

"I don't care what you might think about me
You'll get by without me if you want"

Amazing how passive-aggressive that line is when you think about it.

What cracks me up about this is that both Jon and Stephen are fond of Rachel Maddow (and have had her on their shows but then she's the only one I can stand on MSNBC), so its not like they have a grudge against MSNBC on the whole.

Obligatory liberal intellectual plug for National Public Radio http://www.npr.org. Intelligent, solid, un-flashy reporting and interviews. They're more reliable than even the New York Times because they don't give reign to idiots like Judith Miller (WMD in Iraq!).
