I also really loved that the only identifiably Asian character with a speaking role was a hooker.

Inara? Because I think she's supposed to be from Future Brazil (at least, that's what the scripts indicated). If it's someone from Heart of Gold then I have no idea because I rarely watch that episode.

Yeah, one of the women in Heart of Gold -- I'm pretty sure she was one of the religious ones, although it's been a while since I last saw that episode.
