Michael Jackson has died.
http://www.tmz.com/2009/06/25/michael-jackson-dies-death-dead-cardiac-arrest/

OH MY FUCKING GOD
Michael Jackson Dies
Posted Jun 25th 2009 5:20PM by TMZ Staff
We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

Jackson had 13 number one hits during his solo career.

OH MY GOD.

I am shaking, ngl.

ETA:
I hope it's not true. PLEASE LET IT BE FAKE.

WHY WON'T ANYONE CONFIRM THIS, GDI.

TMZ IS THE ONLY ONE REPORTING THE DEATH, NEEDS CONFIRMATION FIRST

POTENTIAL CONFIRMATION? OH GOD I HOPE NOT

ETA AGIAN, VIA TWITTER: According to @FSBigBob KTLA, KCBS, CNN, and MSNBC are still reporting MJ is alive.

EVERYTHING IS SLOW I AM IN PERMA CAPSLOCK.

ETA:
Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times.

Holy fucking shit, he's dead.

;_; for reals. No, really. :'(

MSNBC, NBC, CBS, among others confirm death. CNN, Fox...

I am not even kidding when I say it was a dream of mine to see him in concert. I am so sad, I don't even know what to say or do right now.

LJ is still down, wiki is nutso, Twitter is ROBUST LIKE WHOA. And, omg, radio stations are only playing Michael.

ETA:
I'm guessing they fixed LJ by suspending ONTD. Which is now back up, comments disabled.

WAY TO STAY CLASSY ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT:

Oh yeah, and this just in: JEFF GOLDBLUM DIED TOO. http://bit.ly/l3xgZ
FALSE. I THINK. YEAH. IDK. BRB, STILL CRYING OVER MJ.

I feel stupid for crying, but he was my first pop idol when I was like 10. Thriller was the very first album I was ever given, I had pictures of him up in my room, the glove, the red leather jacket.

Severs are robust everywhere. It is a sort of fitting farewell, and a testament of what he meant.

Billie Jean playing on loop. RIP man.

Poor, sad, brilliant, fucked-up genius Michael Jackson is dead (and holy shit if he didn't take the Internet with him).

He was a great artist; it'll be a very long time before we see the likes of his talent embodied in one performer again. And here he was, poised to make his big comeback in just a couple of weeks--what a shame. Yeah, I would have paid big money and gone wherever I had to in order to see him perform live.

But I confess: I am not at all surprised by this. Sad? Oh, hell, yes. But not surprised at all.

What I *would* have posted to ontd.

(Heh--LJ had to shut down the comment ability on ontd to keep LJ up.)

Soooo, is anyone else curious as to what the cover of People will be this week?

And how does Melissa Joan Hart feel about this?

You know, I honestly don't care all that much about Michael.

HOWEVER, the epicness of everything cycling through crashing, stumbling up, and crashing again is hilariously awesome for me. This is amazing.

Seriously, Twitter's having problems? Like, the Twitter that was being slammed all last week by Iran and everyone wanting to know about Iran? THAT Twitter?
...I ask because it didn't have problems last week! So all of Iran = not a problem for the servers, but Michael Jackson dying = crashing?

Holy WTF.

My sister-in-law called me and said she thought MJ was dead because they were playing his music on all the radio stations. Tell-tale sign. I was never really a fan, but still, it's sad.

The unsuspended ONTD briefly, LJ begin to spazz out again, and then they proceeded to re-suspend ONTD.

I can't believe one community has caused the entirety of LJ to crash. >.

NGL. I was in the shower and turned on the radio. So, they were talking about Farrah Fawcett's death (which...while tragic, was anticipated, I think), and then they said that there was another celebrity death.

I'm like, okay, which D-lister will it be?

Radio: Michael Jackson is dead.
Me: WHAT. SAY THAT AGAIN. SAY THAT AGAIN.

It's a shame, though. I really liked his early solo work, and even a bit of his later solo work. And of course, the Jackson 5 was classic.

Moreover...there was something going on in his head. For lack of better phrasing, his last years were rather troubled, it seemed. It's sad that he never seemed to come to terms with his demons, if you will.
