No problem :D I've been in prison at UBC for a while :p
The walking is because the Student Union Building is small >_> There is an elevator in the Student Union Building somewhere, but I have no idea where it is. Most of the entrances involve stairs or clever route-planning.
Another rest area I completely forgot about is the cafeteria by the Starbucks, handily on the first floor (near entrance #5). There's a little nook there too. (Last time the Artist Alley was on the first floor, large events were on the second, and smaller panels were in another building.)
My typical meal is Tim Hortons >_>
