I only knew him from Stargate, but he did quite a few other shows and films, and everyone I know who met him said he was a sweetheart.

RIP "Hammond of Texas".

Another death in the family comic book industry this year is Michael Turner, who died yesterday of cancer. He was 37. I am pretty sure that Turner's work has appeared on FW (or that reactions to it have), as his distinctive style consists primarily of very busty women with plump lips and improbably bendy spines. I figured F_L would be an interested party, and even as someone who's criticized his work, I'm sad to hear he's gone.
