Dear I'm such a SPECIAL fan Fans
I was watching Inside the Actor's Studio a few weeks ago and Hugh Laurie was the guest. The time came for audience questions and up stood the stereotypical fangirl: Rotund, frizzy hair, full of giggles. She asked the following. "Do you think House belongs with-...will end up with Cameron, Cuddy, or -dare I say it- Wilson? *giggle!!!!*" That's a quote, by the way. And then she went on and on about 'the web sites on the internet' and how 'popular' the pairing was.

(For those of you that want to know, Laurie said that any and all three are possible because it's human nature to want companionship.)

Look, I agree that it's nice to to have some sort of confirmation about a character's sexuality or relationships (Like Depp saying Jack Sparrow is Bisexual), but come on. You are not daring or progressive for shipping something homosexual. Really, you're not. Stop thinking you're some sort of revolutionary.

Dear Entitled fans,
You do not own the works you're a fan of, alright? No, Harry Potter is NOT public domain. You do not know the story/characters/world better than Jo does. Jo didn't "Quit" anything. She told the story from beginning to end. Or do you just Quit dinner when there's nothing left on your plate? Quitter!
How can you not see that the whole Lexicon thing can potentially fuck us all over? You get mad that LJ takes away your precious smut? At least we're still allowed to make it.

Fun fact: I'm not even a fan of Harry Potter and I ship nothing in House.

I wouldn't consider myself so much daring as wistful. My canons need to stop being so hetersexual and get a little diversity up in there as relates to romances.

Which is why the lot of us went squee when we found out Sunstreaker was supposed to be gay.

Word. With how homophobic the world and so much of the media is, every official gay thing is pretty nice. Not being homophobic doesn't make you cool, but I'm still going to be happy when I find out a character is going (or was) to be something other than straight.

No kidding, if only to be a bit different. How many realistic portrayals of homosexual relationships do you get outside of films focused specifically around the gay experience or whatever the fuck they call it these days.

Not that many; I can only think of Torchwood and the new Doctor Who (to some extent), then there's the odd soap and canons that have closed.

Heck, how happy are we to just find out that there was a bisexual on House? Not even that she has a girlfriend, or that she would, but that that fictional character is into it sometimes.

Remy Hadley is her actual name. (The character.) But I have to admit it took me a while to actually start remembering that.

I agree, IE: Prudence from Across the Universe. I'm not saying anything about the authenticity, but rather how the fan broached the subject, with the giggles and just her general disposition. She struck me as one of the OMG CAMERON IS A BITCH and so is CTB!!! fans who hate characters who get in the way of her OTP.

But seriously, ARGH. Do these girls have any idea how demeaning they are?

Yeah, she was already pushing it with the fat and the frizz and the being geeky, so thank god there's a chance in hell that she might find a man who'll want her someday, so long as she loses weight and does something about that hair and sublimates her interests to his. 'Cause where will she be without a man, amirite?

...? Fillets? Sounds...delicious!

No seriously, I've never heard them called that. I've heard the inserts you put into bras called "cutlets" before, but never fillets.

Hmm, I've heard them called that before by my friends (chicken fillets), but there's nothing on the Internet to prove this.

Maybe it's a southern English thing?

Distinctly possible, given I've never been to England (sadly!). Which is weird, 'cause we still call it "chicken fillet" when it's on a menu.

Doubful. I fit the above description but I'm sure it would've been just as lame if it'd been me.
