I expect the reason I wrote so much is because I'm truly disturbed by the book's popularity, given the kinds of messages it's encoded for consumption by the teen/tweenage audience. That, and I essentially let fly after about a week of ruminating on the text in the back of my head, which is how these things tend to go for me XD
