Your fauxpology does not make it okay.
I don't care if you "sincerely apologize" for using "ignorant slut" and "whore" to describe female characters on the show. It's not funny, as was your intent.

It's stupid, offensive, misogynist and shows a disturbing lack of creativity.

Bitch about the show all you want, but for the love of God, stop calling female characters "whore" and "slut". The use of those terms to describe the female characters doesn't even make any sense.

I'd like to read what you have to say about the episode, but if you're going to be a lazy jerkwad and use "slut" and "whore" to describe female characters, then perhaps I'll just skip your posts.

Surprisingly, it wasn't SPN. It's Power Rangers Jungle Fury.

Yup. But it's okay since he used them in a "humorous" way.

Seriously.

I love after Fran sees RJ's backpack she asks if he's "going somewhere". To this I could give two witty retorts. 1) No, no he isn't. Not on this show. and 2) No you stupid whore, he's going to community college where "He's totally gonna make it someday man, just you wait and see."

WHAT

O_o Which character was being called that? There are only three possibilities, Lily, Fran and Camille, and I can't think of ANY of them doing anything worthy of being called that...

It was Fran. I don't even know.

Samurai Kurasu does it here. (And in his other episode reviews, I think.)

Spoilers for "Friends Don't Fade Away".

I have to admit to being fond of "ignorant slut" in the context of "Jane, you ignorant slut" from the old SNL skit. But that works for any gender, really.

My dad used to refer to me as an ignorant slut until my mom told him that he was going to end up arrested, so he only calls her that now.

I just don't understand why "bitch" and "slut" became acceptable descriptions. And esp. when men use them and then get all het up when called on it - "I was just being funny!" No. You don't get to decide that. And, no, "bastard" does not carry the same implication as 'bitch".

You and me both. Just. dfgjfg.

I've also had people whine at me when I warn them that throwing around 'LAWL FAG' like a /b/tard on speed will cause people to think you are an idiot and a homophobe and possibly prepubescent.

"Bitch" I'm okay with--especially in a "bitch, please" context--but I call guys bitches as well. Honestly, it's one of the milder insults where I'm from, especially since I'll self-identify. "God, you're such a bitch." "Well...yes."

I'd be more insulted by "dickhead" or "asshole." At least "bitch" has some positive connotations.

Slut, OTOH, pushes all my "you don't get to judge other people on their sex lives, fuckstick" buttons. I'll make exceptions for, again, self-identification (The Ethical Slut etc) and for the SNL skit, but seriously describing a woman as a slut? No. Fail.

Hm. Funny double standard thing: I tend to be offended by calling female characters sluts, but with males it doesn't bother me as much.

This is probably bad.

Possibly because it hasn't been used for years and years and centuries as a demeaning-women's-worth-as-people insult/descriptor.

:D

Ugh, Smallville fandom is rampant with this, especially with regards to Lois Lane. Sleeping with two guys over the course of four years = ignorant slut who doesn't deserve Clark.
