Dear idiots at the BBC:

Hendry vs Ding was always going to be the most popular match on during the past few days, and probably the most exciting. Who decided to put it on a red button channel rather than the terrestrial?

And then, once it turned out that it was, in fact, the most exciting match of the tournament thus far, who decided to put the rugby on the same red button channel, thus taking it off-air again?

How can you complain that snooker is losing popularity and yet not show the exciting bits? Didn't the fact that:

a) It was Hendry vs Ding, and
b) They were level-pegging the whole way through the match

give you any hint at all?

I understand that a lot of people like rugby - but why couldn't you have cut it into the other match?

To add insult to injury, one of the commentators added during the last two minutes that he hoped the red button viewers had enjoyed the match. No. Because you weren't showing the match, you were showing the flaming RUGBY!

(John Parrott, Willie Thorne, I don't blame you. You can't have known this was happening.)

And it's not even up on iPlayer. Well, the highlights are, but not the whole match...

GAH. Hopefully the nice person on YouTube with the English recording will hurry up and upload his copy.

I don't wanna rub it in too much, but it was a freaking awesome match! You should try Eurosport. I think today alone they've had snooker on for, like, eight hours straight. And I'm not even exaggerating.

I'm not sure if I have access to Eurosport (and after I go back to uni tomorrow, I definitely won't), but thanks for the tip. I'll try to remember it for next time :D
