Hypocritical slash fans make me sad inside
All right, I have put up with your incessant whining about how eeeeeeeeeeveryone writes your fave character as gay homg how can they do that don't they see how very heterosexual he is? I have put up with this for MONTHS. While it gets a little tired, I can see where you're coming from. It annoys me when you rail on people who play him otherwise mirrored to canon, but whatever. Everyone has their little ticks.

No, what's cheesed me off is that you actually do ship him with one of the other male characters.

Pretty hard.

Just for the porn.

But you want IC porn.

But no. They're all doing it wrong. Only you can do it right.

Eat a steaming bowl of dicks. You have no right to say your largely subjective opinion is any more correct than someone else's, especially when you spend so much time complaining about them only to do basically the exact same thing.

I think I'd be too confused to be angry. So this person doesn't want anyone to write him as gay - unless it's hardcore porn? NO GAY FLUFF, DAMNIT.

In all seriousness, I can definitely see where this would get annoying. But honestly, being outside of the situation, my only reaction is a giant WHAT. Fans are weeeeeeird.

Oh, I'm confused, too, but God damn! It pisses me off, too, because she rails on emotional slash and then praises porn. I don't want to be a dick and hate on porn, because I love porn, but to completely demonize the emotional, character-driven aspect of it boggles my mind and aggravates me.

...I hate this attitude too.

Ironically, I get criticized in my porn for having the guys not be emotional enough- though, for what I write, the given value of "emotional" doesn't exactly add up to "romantic"; it's more "manipulation/counter-manipulation topped off with a side of really intertwined, codependent BDSM-type stuff".

I knew some people like that. That slash was anti-canon and stupid, unless purely written because "you think the characters are hot together and just want some porn" something with a story trying to "make it look like it makes sense, when it doesn't" was bad and made you a bad writer and just another stupid yaoi fangirl who hated het and mad characters gay because you hated women.

Oh and all yuri was written by guys and it had no value as a written medium what-so-ever because lesbians are only written to get men off.

Suddenly I remember why I don't participate in fandom anymore.

I've actually seen a few fans with a similar mindset in my main ship fandom (which is slash). They'll be completely opposed to and think OOC any fic that has the characters in an established relationship, but they adore porn with the characters (and it's all right if they're in a relationship there, as long as you only write the porny parts). Basically for them it's porn or it's UST. Nothing else is okay.
