I Know, I Know...
Dear Certain ex-WoW Player,

I know. I *know*. You don't like Cataclysm. We get it. You spent the early months of Cataclysm sucking the fun out of it for me because every time you posted, regardless of why, you always had to get your digs in about how terrible this expansion was.

I liked parts of this expansion. Less and less of it, as time went by, but I still did, and at every point when I felt like it wasn't so bad, there you were to whine about how much you missed Wrath. Well, guess what? I miss Warcraft III. I want Warcraft IV like a wanting thing. I want all of the stupid lore from this expansion and last expansion to just go away.

But I can't get that. You can't go back to Wrath.

Let's all just take a deep breath and stop constantly bringing it up at every given opportunity, in the most passive-aggressive ways possible.

Co-signed. The sad thing is I don't even know what WC4 would be about at this point since they keep killing everyone/making them dumb in WoW.

The constant negativity from some people is just draining though. I took a pretty long hiatus from WoW maybe a month or so after Cata started and only came back when 4.2 hit. A lot of things bugged me so...I just didn't play, and I turned my attention to other things. I don't get why this is so difficult for some people.

	It wouldn't be so bad if it were the first time, and it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't act like we should all be so SHOCKED and AMAZED by their dislike of the expansion. When they titled their post 'true confessions', I wanted to reply, 'What? You don't like this expansion? You want to go back to Wrath? She hates the villain, which she claims is new and boring (the cult and Deathwing have been in the lore since WCII), she doesn't like the zones, or the questing, or the talents, or... well, basically anything. Earlier on, she used to make posts about it fairly regularly, AND she'd feel the need to harsh anyone else's buzz about it. I can understand complaining, but when I do that, I do it on my own journal. I don't post it on a rant community and then act shocked (SHOCKED!) when people don't agree.

I loved Kara, and the BC story, and pretty much everything about it, especially making fun of the goat-smurf space-paladins. WotLK was okay, but I hated everything about Cata, so I quit playing. Considering the bulk of my friendslist had already decided Cata sucked too much to continue paying $14.99 a month to be bored and annoyed, I don't know why I stuck around as long as I did. I need to read a study about the psychological reason MMORPGs get their talons into you and don't let go.

	Man, drunken Kara is just now entering Steadfast's standard Wednesday night mount-run raid rotation. Doing it last week with half the guild group not knowing where we were going and at least two members in some state of chemical alteration was almost more fun than I should be allowed to have. Guess it depends what you're doing in it, because I've been absolutely loving Cata. It gave me the one thing I wanted most, to be able to solo everything while leveling, and solo boss fights that are actually FUN. And transmog! What's not to like about being a mage dressed up like a warlock?

Granted, I can't get void storage to work at all and I have no idea what the dungeon/raid content is like because I avoid it like the plague, but still.

I'm enjoying the hell out of the new 5-mans (especially Well of Eternity, lore silliness aside) and Raid Finder is probably one of the best new features they've ever come up with. Aside from questing in Vashj'ir, 4.3 is probably the most fun I've had during this whole expansion. 4.3 is probably the most fun I've had during this whole expansion. Which is kind of damning with faint praise, but still. It's like they finally struck a balance with the grind.

...you don't want to know how much money I've sunk into mogging, though. >.>

	Mogging? I really wish they would kill the price for server transfers so I could come back, some of the new stuff really sounds like fun. Also you're one of the only people who likes Vashj'ir I've heard of! I liked it too, admittedly only on my druid though because swim form makes things so much more pleasant. I admit without shame to enjoying Cataclysm, too, but I suspect that's principally for a few reasons:

1. I don't do Cataclysm dungeons or raids. At all. Ever. I would rather hammer red hot railway spikes through my own hands.

2. I finally broke down and rolled my death knight's paladin boyfriend (as a human cleverly disguised as a blood elf -- so of course Magister's Terrace absolutely refuses to drop an Orb for him) about two months in and had a metric fuckton of fun in the 1 - 60 questing experience.

3. I did Vash'jir and Uldum once to completion, on one toon, because he's my main and needed to have Loremaster of Cataclysm like a needing thing. The others, no so much.

4. As the officer in charge of roleplaying for my guild, I have always felt perfectly free to ignore the living holy crap out of Lore developments that irritate me. I may not be able to ignore Garrosh Hellscream, but that doesn't mean I can't build plots around how much everyone hates his ass.
