eww the english language!
Ok so my biggest pet peeve is bloody sub elitist in the anime fandom.
There is nothing stupider then being against your country’s own national language. (Perhaps there is, but at the moment it’s pretty stupid)
So I’m at the local university anime club waiting for the guy in charge of changing the videos to do his thing. He puts in a DVD, and seeing as most DVD players default to the English language setting the Anime in question auto starts into the Dub version. The ‘assault’ lasted all of perhaps 5 seconds. But the near riots that happened just floored me. “Oh my poor ears” “TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFF” and such were shouted out with out missing a beat. It was ridiculous.
For all those anti-English language folks who live in English speaking countries I just have one question for you:
How the hell do you get through the day?
It was just 5 seconds of dub. Relax.
(granted some dubs are just plain bad and make your ears bleed, but seriously, this was not one of them)
