Dear minions of two certain Stargate BNFs
Please note that under no circumstances is it acceptable to charge for fucking downloads of their stories. I don't care how they justify it. They were on shaky bloody ground charging for a cd of their stories never mind charging for an e-book. And trying to say that, yes, of course they have costs - Word, Adobe, bandwidth - just makes you look like a moron.
Because, frankly, Word comes free with many PCs these days, and even if it doesn't there are FREEWARE alternatives. Same for Adobe compilers - hell, I got one of those with my last computer magazine. For free.
As for bandwidth - them and every other person who likes to host a site somewhere prettier and more reliable than Geoshitties. This does not in any way, shape or form mean that charging for fic is a) acceptable or b) invalidate my concerns that should their actions come to the attention of the PTB that they won't come down like a ton of bricks on the rest of the fandom.
Face it. Your idols are screwing you, and frankly neither of them have written anything worth reading in two years. One of them may once have shown promise, but the pair of them have been disappearing up their own fundaments for years now.
And by the way, yes my fucking copy of Word is legal, bitch! And I've bought software to enable me to code and upload my website, or I use freeware. And I've paid for webhosting for nine fucking years, when most of you were still at the drooling stage. Hell, most of you don't seem to have progressed beyond that, or beyond shoving things in your mouth you shouldn't - like their arses!
I pay to host four different fiction archives, vids by others, screencaptures, art work etc, and I do not fucking charge for it because, guess what? This is fandom. I do it for love of the show, not because I think the morons who make up the fanbase owe me a living.
Take your tongue out of their arses and open your fucking eyes and realise that if the PTB get wind of this little stunt of theirs - which is as stupid as selling the fucking screencaps they took from the DVDs as art, or starting a mailing campaign to get Jack and Daniel to kiss on screen, which had the ffect of them never actually being on the screen at the same time (nice work there, morons) - then the entire fucking fandom that you all proclaim to love will be utterly screwed as they go after one site after another.
And their fic sucks anyway. So I don't actually give a flying fuck what they charge the morons who are willing to pay for it. I do however give a flying fuck if their actions result in me and mine getting fucking cease and desist letters.
