Dear fan who keeps IMing me,
It's fine that you like seeking out people who share some interests with you.
Really.
I don't mind occasionally chatting to new people with whom I share fannish interests. I've made several lasting friendships that way.
However, selecting me only because of my default LJ icon and a few mutual interests, friending me before you even IM me and get to know me, asking me to read fic you've written within 3 minutes of first talking to me, then proceeding to direct connect to me over IM and picspam with random pics and fanart from a fandom we happen to have in common?
Not cool. Annoying as all hell. I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt when people got pissy with you for random pic-posting on LJ comms, but you honestly don't seem to understand or don't want to understand that it annoys people. If you want to make friends with somebody, SLOW THE FUCK DOWN. And ASK before you start sending them random pictures. IMing me once and/or Friending me on LJ doesn't make me your BFF who wants to talk to you for several hours a day.
