Cheer up, emo... oh nevermind. A somewhat incoherent rant brought on by way too much "fanficrants."
Fictional characters are generally based on people (ETA: people in general, not specific people. Usually.), and as such they tend to show emotions. Except maybe Henry Townshend. And maybe Mai. Though I like them. Maybe they should date. And people therefore tend to write fanfic where they show emotions.
This does not mean they are "emo" "wangsty" "fluffy bunnies" "OOC" (unless they really are, which I realize is not always an easy call) or "acting like teenage girls." (who are apparently horrific creatures on a perpetual emotional overload.) Except maybe Mai. You could probably write a teenage girl having emotions and it would be IC but then the world would explode or something.
Maybe some people want to read fanfic where everybody walks around like this ._. and punches each other on the arm and maybe has sex, but for myself I don't mind a little emotion.
Thank you.
