And what's wrong with a fantasy, hm?
Because yaoi fangirls and slashwriters aren't real fans. They're just horny little children that want to corrupt everything into one of their fantasies.

I could go into the "why do people perceive gay relationships = sex?" rant, but I won't.

I just want to know what the fuck is WRONG with someone writing fic about their fantasies?

Really, I don't think Mary Sues and eight-hour love-box-pumping het lemons are somehow more qualified as "real fans" writing "real art" than a magical-self-lubricating-anus is. Or that fantasy that everything in the universe needs to be crossed over with Harry Potter and/or Ranma 1/2. Or the fantasy that somehow all the characters are in high school, or the fantasy that Aeris was resurrected, or the fantasy that... well, you get the idea.

it's quite simple: some foolios like to play intarweb police and get whay too pissy and shirty about dumb stuff online; insteas of pointing, caclking, sharing the pain and/or clinging the back button they bitch, piss and cause dramarama by anonyflaming and wheedling about others' idle brainnoise.

Should one expect a bit of mockery for posting daft brainnoise online? Well, duh.

But some people just take everything nine times too seriously. See also: the thought police who get all screamingly up in arms about dumb bodice-ripper teenybopper raepfikz, and hold such things as evidence of the decline of society as a whole. Honestly; it's not worth getting an ulcer over. Mock away if you must but spare us all the hysterical rantings about how children these days have no soouuulll. Kthx.

...shoot. I need kleenex plz.

*wipes it all up for you*

No worries, you said it better than I could have, I'd have made an even messier mess.

*shares tea of gratitude!*

There are points I missed. But - like - blah. it's better to just point, laugh and then go bugger off and look for the GOOD PR0N than pitch a wobbly about the sad state of the internets. XD

I'm so sick of the anti-slash/yaoi arguments, like, come up with something new. Because the fact that you think I'm a horny child writing my fantasies is something that has ceased to matter to me, get the hell on.

If they'd come up with a better argument (or a new one at least!) then this might be amusing. Maybe.

That's very nearly as good as the "a lot of slash is just the writer's desire to defy their parents" theory that turned up on GAFF the other day.

Seriously. I'm pretty sure if I'd used "I'm reading gay fan-produced erotica!!" as a way to piss off my parents, they would've laughed me out of the house.

HA1

My dad found slashfic about the time that I did.

"Mulder. Krycek. What th--"

"Logic isn't always a priority, dad."

"Oh it wasn't the logic it was the nongrasp of anatomy. ...Or the grasping of--"

"DAAAAAD."

Muwahaha! My dad discovered a slash fic I'd written quite by accident one day. I don't think he quite understood what it was, or else he stopped reading before the sex scenes came in.

My dad found my yaoi fanfics when he was poking through my stuff and assumed that I was writing about my own sex life or something. Apparently, I am a caucasian male with a HUGE FUCKING GUNDAM who has a braid fetish and likes to bottom since I was writing a 2x3 at the time. XD

I still laugh at the fact that he was so horrified over it. Son of a bitch shouldn't've been poking in my stuff in the first place.

Well...uh...I don't have any scandalous slashfic stories of my own, but my dad did catch me writing a (godawful never-seen-the-light-of-net) genfic in a spiral notebook when I was fifteen. I don't think he was able to read any of it except for a random word or two, but he did say that I had very nice handwriting.

I agree with your icon. Let's give the anti-fantasy militants wedgies.

And I say people like that aren't real fans, they're just whiny little babies who want everyone to do things the way they want and throw tantrums when they don't get their way.

...seriously. If a person likes something, THEY ARE A FAN. Doesn't matter if they write sappy sugary het, boobs/pubes/fluids OT3 yuri, or yaoi with manginas and asswombs and all that jazz. Nor does it matter if they cross everything over with whatever series they want.

People have fantasies. Fandom is fun. Being a fan does not mean following the rules some overzealous harpy lays down. It means enjoying a series and being enthusiastic about it.

(Not counting the people who claim to be OMG SO OBSESSED with something they don't care about just so they can fit in with the cool kids.)

So much word, but I must *yawn* at the argument. Slashers have heard everything before; we mostly just giggle, mock, and go back to our stashes of links and fics and/or write some more hot porn.
