Just follow the rules the convention gives you. The rules aren't there just to oppress you. Sometimes it takes one bad apple to ruin everything for everyone but believe me, there are a ton of dumbasses at conventions so there's probably a good reason some rules exist.

And no, your constitutional rights are not being violated because you can't carry a sign that says "Free Hugs!" or "Will do anything for pocky!"
