WTF is up with the double-posting in the 1Up forums? And Protozoider-ameoba guy is waaay too uptight about it.

People who probably shelled out the $700 for the full version of the 360 are bitching about $250? A refurb PS2 still runs over $100. I tend to stay a console behind because of prices, but at this price, I could save for a Wii in a couple of months. Yay!

Since the Times story went live, Nintendo has also announced that the classic NES, SNES, and N64 games downloadable to the Wii's Virtual Console would range from $5 to $10 in price, in line with most Xbox Live Arcade games. Some 30 titles will be available at launch, including unnamed installments from the Donkey Kong, Zelda, and Mario franchises, with a total of 60 arriving by the end of the year.

Hell, with that announcement, I don't even need to worry about being able to afford games at launch. I can afford a $250 system plus ~$20 to pick up a few old school games then harass my family for any new Wii games that I want for Christmas (rather than harassing them for the system and a game all at once. Like my brother will be).

That just WINS. Especially because I don't think my SNES works anymore. Hell, iTunes is charging about $5 a game, and that's just to play them on the iPod.

Don't any of these people know how to save money? I mean, it's not like we haven't known the Wii was coming out ages ago. $250 is nothing... wasn't the XBox 360 more expensive than that?

And seriously, my brother's been saving up for the Wii for over the past year. He's got over $1000 to spend on the Wii and all its accessories. Plus, he's only 14 so it's not like he pulls in a paycheck every few weeks. And he STILL saved way more than he needs!
