Runaway from the wank
So, the comic book Runaways is getting itself a new creative team starting with issue 25.

The fact that the new writer is Joss Whedon has left certain fans less than thrilled.

adora_spintriae starts things off with a hearty Fuck you, Marvel, not a wholly wanky post in and of itself. However, when Kabuki_callgirl suggests to wait and see, adora apparently misreads it as "I'm going to rape your kitten then piss in your cheerios," as cussing, ironic attempts at mocking grammar, and insults occur!

Our little fandom's all grown up, guys!

I've never heard of this comic before, but the mention of Joss Whedon has me kind of interested.

Well, that's interesting.

Does that mean he's definitely leaving Astonishing X-Men then? Or will he do both of them?

I don't really see what the problem is, I liked his run on AXM (granted, the "Danger" arc was more than a little bit lame).

Okay, hang on a minute. Let me work this out.

- [info]adora_spintriae dislikes everything Joss Whedon's ever done except Firefly/Serenity.
- So she expects Joss Whedon's run on this comic to suck.
- But if she didn't dislike Firefly/Serenity then Joss Whedon obviously surpassed her expectations that time.
- So if he's surpassed her expectations once, surely it's entirely possible he can do it again?
Therefore: Kabuki_callgirl's call to wait and see should be entirely reasonable.

Or am I just using that pesky earth-logic?

Joss Whedon likes Veronica Mars too, and that doesn't stop that show from being a steaming pile of shit.

I love Runaways, and I love Vaughn's run on it, but honestly -- if anyone else can pull off this title, it would be Whedon. Teenagers facing extraordinary circumstances are his thing, people.

And I could swear that this isn't the only comics wank adora_spintirae's been in; maybe she should rethink her choice of fandom if comics continually set her off like this.
