Over in worldofwarcraft, captainecchi apparently woke up and decided today was a good day to dictate how other people should play WoW. The entry really seems to be aimed at a particular person but the entire tone of the entry just completely disgusted me.

Honestly, the OP seems to be a reasonable person (darn it), but this personal grudge really didn't deserve a post in a comm.

Still, a few of the comment threads are wanky, even though there's not much overall. It's definitely entertaining reading.

Eh, I'll agree on the mouse thing if they're pvping. It's really funny sharply running around mages while you see them sloooowly turning, trying to face you to cast their spells. Honestly I use the mouse and the keyboard to move, depending on how lazy I'm feeling. Autorun+right click mouse for direction is the awesome.

Wireless connection does suck...but, uh, not her fault. Kinda stupid thing to bitch about.

tamahome: I never intimated your friend sucks. A group consists of 5 people after all. I'm just saying that blaming your lack of progression in a 5-man on technology when people are playing the game on dial-up and beating the instance is the wrong way to go.

I just want to know why anyone bothers with MMORPG wank? It's like, available by the supertanker-load. Just trundle over to the VnBoards for tons of raving DAOC wank, readable by anyone whether or not they play the game, for example. Game forums are nothing but wank, 99% of the time. It's hardly worth commenting on when it is the majority of the "conversation".

Can I just say the OP loses for not knowing that facing doesn't matter for healing in WoW. In fact in raids I tend to face my character in either the best run away position or in such a way that I can't see anything so as to better concentrate on playing heal bar wack a mole.

Also decursive on five man is totally not needed. Decent reflexes are. I admit to being a total mod junky but I don't use them when I five man. I went through most of MC back in the day when it was still hard without a decurse mod and AQ and Naxx have started putting in nasty tricks to discourage you from spamming decursive mindlessly on everyone anyway. I have more respect for someone who isn't crippled if decursive borks.

In conclusion, wiping with friends in Scholo, totally not worth a passive aggressive bitchfest on LJ.

Back when I played WoW, on Skywall (Thelma the hunter with her pet pink flamingo pet Louise, you betta REKIGNIZE!!!!), our forums were... deliberately wanky. So deliberately wanky that we made fun of people that showed up and tried to point out that we were wanky.

We even used to have 'hook the sucker' trollfests on other official forums just to see what idiot would come over to Skywall and say 'hey, you've got some moron making you guys look bad' so we could mock them.

That being said, turningyourcharacterwiththeADkeyswhat?! DUDE. I played WoW back in April before release, in the closed beta back when Hunters weren't yet implemented, Mages had invis (pyro + invis + UD speaking Common FTW), and moving by the mouse was a pipe dream. More control with the mouse my lily blue ASS. If I want to play with my moreexpensivethanyourparentswouldeverallow internet connection that probably has better latency than whatever your connection is, I will, thank you very much.

I LOVE that this person thinks you have to be able to see someone to heal them--I bet that they're under the impression the only way to target the wounded is to find them on your screen and click. This just about negates any possibility that they've ever been on a high-end raid, and in the WoW world of super special people, that makes them a NOOB. Lern 2 play, plzkthx. There are at least four ways (maybe three?) to target a party member without using any mods to the default UI, and only one of them is the painfully slow 'find them and click on them and then heal them' strategy.

Ugh. It's been a long time since I've wanked WoW, but this person... ugh.
