HP Fen + Oh No They Didn't = Sweet, Sweet Wank!
Over at ohnotheydidnt, we get this this item (via Newsweek) regarding contract talks for Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson and the final two movies (Order of the Phoenix currently being shot)

The post focuses on Emma's reluctance to sign up for the last two movies, citing wanting to do "other things".

People all "She sucked as Hermione anyway! Good riddance!": Right off the bat - Check. (In particular - [info]lesmile's wonderfully loopy "worst Hermione ever" comment.)

People wondering why she can't just finish the movies then go to school/whatever: Check.

Fanbrats with entitlement issues: Check.

People who actively hate Emma but think it would be weird to see someone else as Hermione: Check.

And we haven't even heard from the Danemma shippers yet. (But the day's still young!)

I think [info]avilewoman is right, actually. Anybody whose response to "there is life beyond HP movies" is "BUT OMG THERE ARE HP MOVIES TO BE MADE" may in fact be missing brain cells necessary for point-grasping.

Girl's already rich, doesn't apparently want to be an actress and -- just guessing -- might possibly be sick and tired of psycho HP fen speculating on her love life/drinking habits/wars started or not started due to her public appearances, not to mention creating pseudo-porn manips with her face. Run like hell, Emma.

I think people are just missing the point that it's HER life, and she shouldn't make important decisions based on the opinions of complete strangers.

My favorite part is when avilewoman goes "tl;dr" at a ten-sentence comment. Ah internets.

That said, meh. They're all pretty mediocre; Rupert offends me the least but that might be because he barely gets any lines anymore. MORE CEDRIC AND/OR OLIVER WOOD PLZ. POSSIBLY TOGETHER.

Can someone tell me what they mean when they say IAWTC? I am with the... ?? I am wanting to... ?? In a white table-cloth?

You know, for some reason, I really can't bring myself to care about the casting for ther other HP movies, though. They already changed out Dumbledore, which makes the possibility that they'll change out Hermione that much less of a big deal.

Emma Watson doesn't need to be Hermione to bank money. If she wanted to she could just ask her fans for donations to fund her college, like Emerson and Notre Dame or Cassie Claire and her laptop.

it's her life. and i can't fault a girl who wants to go to college. she's obviously very smart going by thenear- perfect grades on her national exams.

how old was she when she started the films anyway? 10? she's entitled to change her mind. besides so what if the film pays a lot of money if she's miserable all the time.

I couldn't imagine doing the same job from the time I was 10 until I was 20 with almost no time for myself. Sure, it's more interesting than any job I've ever worked but still, at the end of the day it's a job and it can be tiring and stressful and she's probably had to deal with a lot more pressure than any of those wankers have. I'm not surprised she's hesitant.

I hope she stays on, just because I'd love to have the series to have that wholeness but still, it's HP either way and no matter who's featured it's going to be wonderfully cheesy.
