Paper or plastic?
There's yet another gem of a thread on Joystiq, this time dealing with that most crucial of issues: game packaging.
Vladimir Cole posts a story about how Nintendo apologized to European gamers for their temporary switch to cardboard boxes (as opposed to plastic) for DS games, which was done as a result of shortages. In the post, Cole pitches in his own two cents, saying the switch over to cardboard should be permanent, and that the plastic DS cases are environmentally irresponsible.
Almost immediately, the dissenters start posting, arguing in favor of plastic. Some voice valid concerns (the durability of plastic, the tiny size of the DS cartridges, etc.), and there's a few who ponder the collectability of the European cardboard boxes. But then, along come a few people who (gasp!) agree with Vladimir Cole!
Name calling, environmental debates, and references to the present war in Iraq abound. There's plenty in the thread to dig through, but here's my favorite exchange thus far:
76. I have 5 dog pee damaged SNES boxes that strongly disagree with this post.

77. aphallatosis, I doubt anyone will be willing to pay you for those boxes. I also doubt if the boxes have any value save for your nostalgia.
In other words, why the fuck are you keeping those dirty boxes? Put that dog-pissed shit in the trash.
