Last night's season finale of Project Runway prompts a predictable bitchfest on TWoP over the identity of the winner. You can't link to individual posts on TWoP*, but so far we have over 30 pages of: a) goodbye, cruel fashion show/I'm done with PR/PR and its producers are dead to me/this win is a sign to watch less television, from multiple viewers; b) people vomiting in own mouths; c) a viewer clearly able to identify, just from televised images, that pieces from Jeffrey's collection were NOT sewn by same person; d) people shocked and upset that a "better role model" did not win/an asshole was rewarded; and e) typically TWoPish passive-aggressive insinuations that those who like/don't like the winner do not understand fashion. And all of that just in the first half of the thread. Good times.

*You can, but I didn't know that and the thread is 34 pages, woe. Might link some later

I knew that this would cause wank somewhere. I tried looking on LJ for reactions right after the results were announced, but alas, I found nothing. But then again, I am a lazy bastard.

But damn, they're really going at it. Like bunnies.

Oh, they've been going at it all season over there. As Laura Bennett would say, "There's some serious ugly on those boards."

Another place to look for reactions is Blogging Project Runway. And check out Project Rungay, while you're at it--they can be hilarious.

Wow. In a way, I'm glad that I was so annoyed by the outcome, I couldn't even bring myself to read the TWoP thread. I knew it would just bring more irritation.

Good call on the passive-aggressive, btw. So typical.

The wank fallout; it was inevitable. I think there would have been people fapping up a shitstorm no matter WHO the winner was. That it turned out to be who it was just makes it extra SPESHUL.

I can't even bring myself to read those TWerP threads. Instead I will wait patiently for the recap on fourfour, complete with 'shopped screenshots for win and awesome.

I love fourfour. His America's Next Top Model recaps are even better than the Project Runway ones.

In one college dorm room, three girls greeted that outcome with delighted squeaks and clapping.

I still maintain that I wasn't actually interested in the show, at all. It was mind control powers and a great desire to throw a brick at Laura's head that compelled me to continue watching.

Last night was extremely stressful. At one point I had Runway on the TV, the Cards-Mets game on the computer and an IRC chat with Mrs. Terrific and Miss Terrific all going at the same time. I was so thrilled when Laura hit that double in the 9th innning...wait.

I can't believe the hysterics, myself. Saw the conclusion coming as early as last week.

I suspected it when PR started showing things about Jeffrey's son and him being all cute about it...it was totally damage control. I don't know how people didn't even consider it as an *option* that Jeffrey might win.

I didn't see the finale, but the cover of the New York Something Or Other (whatever they have lying around campus) spoiled me for the winner.

All the designers dropped the ball in one way or another.

And what was with the models?? Half of Jeffrey's were just trudging their way through it.

(The music during Laura's line was nifty.)

I finally gave up on reading TWOP recaps when the person who recaps "Ugly Betty" apparently misread the title of the show and wouldn't shut up about how s/he would make Betty over.

As for PR, I liked Uli's collection better, but hey, them's the breaks. At least I don't have to watch Laura play herself on television anymore.

I think she actually misread the point of the show. It isn't The Devil Wears Prada.

I'll say that I'm very unhappy that Jeffery won, but in the long run I don't really care. I can't afford the clothes and there's really no big point in wanking about it anyway. RL provides plenty of things for me rant about anyway.

That said, I'm totally hoping that the next season surpasses this season's drama and that some local designer gets on there so I can hope there's wank in two places

After part 1 of the finale, the TWOP boards were exploding with comments of, "Laura's such a bitch!" and worse, and support for Jeffrey appeared to be at an all-time high there. Suddenly, there's a complete 180. Geez, it's just idiotic.

I'm especially tired of all the people saying, "I'm never watching this show/Bravo/TV again because of this!" Guess what? I don't care if you're not going to watch it, so shut up!

Okay, I really don't like Jeffery's personality as much as the next person but bottom line, he had the best show, best collection and he will benefit the most from the prize. He's an asshole, yes, we know. He also can design like woah and he knows how to run a buisness. And in that show, that's what matters.

Laura will go on, as will Uli and Miachel. All a designer has to do is be on the damn show and lord knows how many comissions he/she will get because their website will be pasted all over the internetz and magazines and other mass media.

I knew there would be wank, I actually called my mom, who also watches the show and I ended up saying something like "this will be on fandom wank" she had no earthly clue what I meant but I knew it would be XD

It's not like the designers that lost won't make tons of money. So, really, it's all about enjoying the clothes. I liked Laura's collection because it was pretty (if I had to hand bead like that I'd go insane o_O) I liked Uli's because it was fun and I liked Michel's because some of his outfits were just... hot. I think Jeffery had the best collection but it wasn't by much.

The only thing I didn't get was that the judges slammed Laura for staying to her stregnth (like they told her to) then proceeded to slam Uli for going outside her comfort zome (like they told her to.) If the world was perfect there would have been wank on that instead XD Or rather, intelligent, moral conversations/debates but that's asking for too much.

(Santa, I want a pony too, can I have a pony?)

Ugh, I'm a regular lurker (sometimes poster) of TWoP, but I could only get through a page and a half of all the "Project Runway is dead to me/Jumped the shark/Ruined" drama. That whole, "That was the last straw; I'm done with this show," seems really...well, yeah, passive-agressive. You seriously give up on a show because you don't like the end? Must not have been such a fan after all. (It took me up until the suck that was the fourth season of Smallville to finally "give up" on that show, and now I've been occassionally sneaking to watch episodes just for Green Arrow.)
