Entry tags:gay, i wanted to be wanked, my pretension let me show you it

My dearest camilla has already put this on [info]fandom_lounge but I'll be damned if it hasn't progressed far enough to be f_w'ed proper.

[info]faithfulreader is a very special snowflake in that he has a cock and he is gay. These two factors are important because that makes his word gospel over - well, say, mine, given that I do not own a cock and I am not entirely gay. But whatevs.

So anyway, he has written these guides on how to write slash: or more accurately, "how to write porn that I will be turned on by and will meet my fittingly exact standards for what I want to see, you big meany poo heads". And HE IS NOT IMPRESSED THAT YOU DON'T REVERE HIS VENOM COCK. What, the guy in the twenty-three hundred dollar suit is supposed to accept that other people have different standards for their porn? Come on!

Appreciate the irony in him calling the Draco Trilogy "brilliant literature" whilst deriding the HP series for being populist crap. Also, he is not about to let any of you icky people with your own individual fetishes hold your own opinion in your own LJ, oh no siree bob.

Well, obviously gay men have a hive mind. As soon as they've realised they're attracted to men, their previous personality seeps out their ears and is replaced by Gay!personality.

From the second link:

Also my mother is a doctor and she made me believe that people are all the same and classics made me believe that people don’t change (it seems that Dostoevsky wrote his novels a month ago). To say that people are all different is a very superficial understanding, which contradicts science, literature and philosophy.

So, because Dostoevsky's novels tapped into the universality of human nature, all gay men have sex just like [info]faithfulreader does?

Okay then. Thanks for clearing that up.

Could this man be more of an ass, btw?

Ah, yes, ye old "if you don't agree with me, you're wrong". That one won't be on the endangered fallacies list anytime soon.

Also, wasn't Alice allegedly written by a pedophile who suffered from migraines?

My favourite person in the world is my five-months-old niece. I enjoy reading, having sex with cool guys...

And I'm still pondering the meaning of this: Who removes the mist from their prostate, seriously?

Including his post and various comments, I think I saw him mention that he has forty-three unread emails sitting in his inbox about three times. What, the guy with eighty-seven unread emails in his inbox is supposed to care what non-BNFs think? Come on!

...he really doesn't know anybody who's read Harry Potter? Because nearly everybody I know has read at least one of the books.

But maybe that's because I know people who read for fun and not so they can be pretentions fuckwads. (Hi, the language is simpler than Dostoyevsky because a) the intended audience is eight-year-olds and b) JKR is not bumfuck crazy.)

Here's a hint: it's not for you. I don't care if it features 8 gay Potter boys in a neverending daisy-chain of fucking and sucking, slash fiction is, with a few exceptions, written by women, for women. We like it the way it is. Can't comment on Harry Potter as compared to Alice In Wonderland, I have never read it (HP, that is). But can comment on pretentious dick of a man. While I do agree about mixing porn and erotica, I disagree that his "very personal gay experience" is required reading if you want to write slash. Is anybody really worried that their slash is not accurately representative of the gay lifestyle? Or are they just writing stuff that gets them hot? If people were so concerned about realism, condoms would show up a lot more often. Way to suck the fun out of it, dude. (hehe, I said "suck")

Not even going to dignify the Cassie worship with an answer.

Hmm, his BNF guide has merit, but allow me to correct some things.

3. Don’t cause scandals and avoid them at any costs. Always agree to anything A Person Of Any Importance says or does. Be friendly, be funny, and always smile. Show up on F_W frequently. Allow your fanbrats to defend you to the death. Never admit that you might be wrong.

Where the hell did this guy *come* from? @_@
I tried reading through his posts but it was like his ego was a gas... filling the room... and after a few moments my brain passed out right in my skull, only to wake up a few hours later with a splitting headache. Or something.

But this is still a fantastic quote!

"Well, before I wrote any of my posts, I discussed all the stuff with two male gay doctors, one of whom is my fuck buddy, and the other one is from fandom."

How can anyone say that with a straight face??

Our boy is busy, busy, spreading the word to the uneducated masses. He's apparently graced [info]writing_sex with his presence, asking for "opinions" on The Difference Between Porn and Erotica.

In fact, a quick glance at the first page shows he's been all over the place the last couple of months.

Dude needs to stop trying to be Minotaur -- and he's doing a crappy job of it anyway. Minotaur has the brains to a) know what the fuck he's talking about, and b) recognize that slash isn't about what men want.

Draco Trilogy (especially Draco Veritas) has more beginnings of a good literature than any other fan fiction written in fandom. In fact, it looks more like literature to me even in comparison to canon itself!

I think that pretty much mocks itself.

Oh, HP fandom, you're on a roll this week ♥
